When this villa was built back in the eighteenth century, infinity pools weren’t high up on the constructors’ agenda. Thankfully, somebody has had the good sense to install one in the years since (measuring six by twelve metres) and today guests can paddle about with a stunning view of Tuscan hillsides. The addition of a hydromassage function means that they can do this in the utmost comfort, too. You don’t have to change into your swimming costume to admire this panorama, because it’s just as beautiful from the alfresco dining area underneath the foliage-covered pagoda or underneath the covered terrace. Inside, the home is pretty spectacular, too. Behind the traditional stone exterior lies terracotta tiling, wooden ceiling beams and an impressive collection of antiques — including a pool table dating back to the nineteenth century. When it’s time to explore beyond the address, there are bikes available to see the immediate locale. The town of Montecatini Terme, famous for its thermal baths, only takes twenty minutes to reach on the saddle, or twelve in the car.
