Tenuta Oasi Italy
Holiday Home Rental Description
Nestled in the Sicilian countryside, near the Baroque masterpiece of Noto town, Tenuta Oasi is the perfect villa to achieve the trifecta of enriching culture, great food, and relaxing beach time.
This villa enjoys an elevated position to look out on the incredible views of the scenery and the perfect location to easily reach nearby seaside towns as well as stunning architecture.
Entering the single-storey villa you are struck by the light, spacious living area with floor to ceiling windows, ensuring you can make the most of that Italian sunshine. For guests looking to unwind and relax, amidst views of olive groves and lemon trees, this villa has much to offer. Before you kick your feet up on the large, comfy sofas, walk through the archway to reach the modern kitchen to grab yourself an aperitivo! The dining table is perfectly placed right by the kitchen so you can easily keep an eye on the kids whilst you cook up a storm or socialise with friends. This open plan design creates a pleasurable atmosphere, allowing conversation to freely flow between spaces.
There are four charming bedrooms, two on one side of the living area and two on the other side, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The glass doors open out onto a delightful dining terrace where you can enjoy an alfresco summer meal. The inviting private pool offers the ideal break from the Sicilian heat. Finally, the roof terrace is the perfect spot to make the most of the splendid vistas and watch the sunset.
Whether on a family holiday or with friends, this villa provides the perfect base to explore this diverse and stunning region. Sandy beaches, beautiful countryside and historic towns are just a short drive away from the villa. Some of the best spots include the fishing villages of Avola and Marzamemi and the historic centre of Ortigia in Siracuse. Foodies, beach lovers and historians can gather over an exquisite glass of Sicilian red wine to gush over the endless beauty of this area. Overlooking a beautiful expanse of olive trees and lemon groves, this villa is ideal for experiencing rural Sicily, and yet remains under a 10-minute drive to the beach and local restaurants and supermarkets if you fancy a change.
Nearby Noto is famous for its historical centre being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking along its streets and taking in the old-fashioned atmosphere, you can feel the rich cultural legacy left by numerous civilisations. Noto is the most easterly of a chain of Baroque towns and epitomises Sicilian Baroque style. Sights here include the 18th century Noto Cathedral, a building that stands out thanks to its golden stones and impressive size and design. This city was rebuilt after a devastating earthquake in 1693 which provided a blank canvas on which Sicilian architects could start anew.
Sit back, relax and take in the sights of the sandstone walls of the 18th century masterpieces whilst enjoying a coffee or a gelato – Caffè Sicilia, open since 1892, serves a unique almond-milk granita as well as delicious gelato.
If you crave more Baroque architecture, there are many other options nearby, including Ispica, Modica and Pozzallo. And if one UNESCO World Heritage site isn’t enough for you, Syracuse is just over half an hour’s drive away. This city boasts an archaeological site that is still home to well-preserved Greek and Roman remains, including the Teatro Greco, which dates back to 5BC. Also worth a visit are the two fishing villages either side of Noto; Marzamemi and Avola; perfect for a day trip to further explore the character of Sicily.
If your neck needs a break from staring up at the impressive Baroque buildings, rest it on the stunning golden sand of one of many nearby beaches! Only 15 minutes’ drive away are the beaches in the Vendicari Nature Reserve; if you enjoy the hubbub of a busy Sicilian summer, head to Spiaggia di Calamosche.
Alternatively, Lido di Noto is the closest and is a popular beach spot for many tourists. With a slightly further drive you can reach Fontane Bianche, a wonderful stretch of pale golden sand with clear shallow water, an ideal option for families.
This section of Sicily also boasts natural beauty; the Vendicari Nature Reserve is protected with unique flora and fauna. Also not to be missed is the Cava d’Ispica; a long canyon filled with caves and archaeological sites, with remnants of millennia of history along the way.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
