The uncluttered, open-plan living area offers a cosy and sociable space, its natural colour palette complemented with natural light throughout the day, courtesy of large patio doors leading to the shaded terrace. The living space comprises ample, comfortable seating around the television and a six-seater dining table in front of a modern kitchen with an island and wall-mounted oven, creating a relaxed and informal space at mealtimes.
Two of the villa’s three bedrooms are on the ground floor. The twin beds can easily be joined, should you require it as a double room. The first floor comprises a double room with a large, comfortable bed and a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, washbasin, WC and bidet. As with the downstairs double room, the floor-to-ceiling corner window incorporates a patio door, leading to a fantastic terrace overlooking the garden.
A comfortable corner sofa and dining table look out from the shaded terrace, making a great spot to relax with a barbecue. Sun loungers and deck chairs are at the side of this villa’s terrific pool.
Located just south of Menfi, this villa is a perfect base for fantastic days at the local beaches and exploring some of Sicily’s foremost wineries and areas of historical interest. The nearest beach is just a few minutes walk from the villa at Spiaggia Lido Fiori, accessible from a private road. The resort is well-served with convenience stores, restaurants and bars. The centre of Menfi offers restaurants serving superb local fare, along with a good selection of shops and cultural landmarks. The local coastline is nothing short of a paradise for beach lovers. Expanses of white sand, dunes and the translucent waters of the Ionian Sea continue for twelve kilometres, between San Marco in the east, to nearby Porto Palo in the west.Menfi, a charming and authentic working coastal town in southwestern Sicily, is the closest town to Villa Vanesia. Menfi is rightly proud of its rich agricultural heritage, apparent from its stores with superb, locally produced olive oil, fabulous wines and terrific fresh produce.
Menfi’s gently descending hills are carpeted with vineyards, so it’s no surprise to discover this charming town’s passion for wine. In 1995, Menfi achieved approved DOC region status, and today produces a superb variety of wines, including Menfi Grecanico, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot and many more.
Wine enthusiasts will love the range of tasting opportunities at local producers’ cantina and the chance to enjoy a glass with dinner at one of Menfi’s excellent restaurants. You will find many of these along the beachfront, their menus reflecting regional culinary traditions. The handmade pasta, sheep cheese, local fruit and vegetables and, of course, seafood are not to be missed.
As well as its historic palazzi, Menfi provides a great base from which to explore Western Sicilian culture. A short drive to the west of Menfi brings you to the archaeological site of Selinunte, along with its neighbouring quarry, Cave di Cusa.
The historic towns of Marsala, with its baroque historic centre, and Mazara del Vallo, home to Italy’s largest fishing fleet, are just an hour away. The historic fishing town of Sciacca is just half an hour to the east, with Agrigento’s spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Valley of the Temples – well worth the eighty-kilometre drive.
