Riad Medina Morocco
Holiday Home Rental Description
Tucked away in the heart of the authentic and lively Marrakech Medina, Riad Medina is a refined, luxurious haven of serenity and harmony, a perfect retreat to relax and indulge in superior surroundings. Riad Medina will enchant and enthral you. The owners bought the riad in 2001 and later, in 2008, they bought two adjoining houses to link the riad to a stunning douiria and a beautiful terrace and swimming pool, unusual in Marrakech. With the talents and mastery of a fantastic architect, the riad preserves the genuine charm and authenticity of a traditional Marrakech building, blending Arab-Andalusian architecture with contemporary, comfortable delights.
The riad is comprised of 4 exquisite junior suites in the main riad, cosy and intimate salons, a traditional hammam and massage room, superb, welcoming roof terraces overlooking the medina and the ravishing douiria with two delightful bedroom suites, private terrace and lounge and the swimming pool and terrace. The riad follows the traditional plan of medina houses with the four suites on the ground and first floors and the sitting room and dining room all arranged around a shaded patio planted with palm trees and boasting a ‘sekaia’, a plunge pool with a fountain.
The atmosphere is idyllic, perfect for a sip of mint tea or an intimate dinner by candlelight. The magical Patio Suite is on the ground floor with a large ottoman bath. The Glaoui ‘honeymoon’ suite is on the first floor with its own staircase as are the Fez and Mogodor Suites which can be interconnecting. The Mogodor Suite boasts an amazing open-air bathroom. Every suite is eye-catching, charming and supremely comfortable.
With the majestic Atlas Mountains on the horizon and the sounds of the vibrant medina and the call of the muezzin at the time of prayer, the roof terrace is absolutely magical. It is the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks. On return from the enchanting souks, you can indulge in some fantastic treatments, enjoy refreshments or find a cosy corner to read or chat.
Sumptuous breakfasts are prepared by the riad’s talented cook Rachida. You can also request delicious lunches and dinners. Tajines, Moroccan pastries, Moroccan spices and delicious caramels can be included. You can enjoy Moroccan, French or vegetarian cuisine within this lovely, intimate setting. Rachida is also happy to offer you a cooking class. The thoughful riad team will ensure you relax and leave Marrakesh refreshed and enlightened with its charms. The Manager and butlers are happy to show you the sites to discover and visit and the best addresses for shopping in the souks or in Gueliz, the modern city.
The riad’s hammam and massage room are fabulous. You can enjoy the art of soaping perfumed with eucalyptus, a kessa gloved scrubbing and a clay mask of rhassoul, desert clay perfumed with rose water as well as a wonderful range of massage and facial and body treatments. How luxurious and indulgent!
The Riad boasts a professional kitchen to prepare meals for guests. This is not available to guests for food preparation. The Riad’s talented cook provides a delicious breakfast every day and can, on request, also offer amazing lunches and dinners.
