Villa Anjam Morocco

Luxury Villas
|5 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

This vibrant modern villa nestled in an olive grove is only a fifteen minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the centre of the ‘Red City”.  If you can imagine every colour you could see at, Djemaa El Fina square, it has been used in the spectacular interior decoration of this villa.  With five superb bedrooms over three levels Villa Anjam offers fun filled accommodation for up to 10 guests to have the holiday of a lifetime.  The interior design of the villa combines an alluring mix of exotic Moroccan decor and plush modern comfort, the lounge strikes the perfect balance between modern design and Moroccan influences. Large colourful sofas face an atmospheric fireplace which partially separates the lounge from the quirky, almost fairy tale like dining area with beautifully chosen artwork and curios lining the walls throughout.  Between the formal living space and the doors out to the terrace is a modern take on the traditional Bhou. A fabulous U shaped sofa with colourful cushions tucked out of the way, perhaps the perfect place to sit on a cooler evening as darkness falls and enjoy the spectacle of the stars and villa lights reflecting on the pool.
Each of the five spacious bedrooms with dressing areas and magnificent bathrooms is decorated in a unique combination of European comfort with Moroccan chic. The first of these with a strong traditional Moroccan theme is on the ground floor, it has access to the terrace overlooking the gardens.  The three first floor bedrooms incorporate the master suite which is rather special.  These three bedrooms and the roof top terrace are accessible via a stunning internal helicoidal staircase, just one of the many superb design features of this fabulous villa, or, by an external stair which allows access to the pool from your bedroom. The fifth bedroom is located on the lower ground floor, this certainly doesn’t mean it is the lesser room, it is quite simply beautiful, the warm terracotta colours of the furnishings mirroring the huge pots on the terrace outside.  Perhaps not best suited for children though as it is apart from all of the other bedrooms
The attention to design and detail is no less outside the villa, the exquisitely furnished   terraces are partially covered, one shaded by a magnificent olive tree.  The covered outdoor dining area is so bright and cheerful with the most amazing lighting and a huge table which can seat a full complement of guests.
The magnificent pool is long enough for a few energetic lengths or perfect to lie beside enjoying a peaceful afternoon soaking up the sun.
The sub-tropical gardens have been extremely well designed, with many mature trees planted throughout the lawns, giant cacti in gravel beds and fruit trees trained against the boundary wall.
Villa Anjam also has a private hammam and a sauna, the hammam is an age-old tradition as well as an important part of life for modern Moroccans, who attend at least once a week to clean themselves and catch up on local gossip. The hammam ritual involves spending time in one of the steam rooms to cleanse your skin before covering your body in savon noir (a black soap made of olive oil). You then scrub yourself with an exfoliating mitt to remove dead skin and dirt, before rinsing off using a bucket of water.
In the imperial city of Marrakech you will discover Morocco at its most chaotic and exciting, but it can be equally peaceful. One of the best ways to experience local life is in its labyrinthine souks, an intricate maze of cubbyhole stalls overflowing with everything from Moorish lamps to piled-high spices. The one thing about the souks is that they can be quite overwhelming, and it can be daunting if someone says “Do you want to come into my shop”, but once you have gained confidence and feel comfortable these are the types of experiences that will make your time in Morocco special.
Every Marrakech visitor will find themselves in Djemaa El Fna, the city’s main square, at some point. During the day, it’s a throng of snake charmers, story tellers and bric-a-brac stalls, then at night, aromatic food stalls take over. Rubbing shoulders with the locals and listening to a storyteller, even if you can only pick up a few words, is an unforgettable experience
Five times a day, one voice rises above the din of Djemaa El Fna as the muezzin calls the faithful to prayer from the Koutoubia Mosque, Marrakech ‘s most famous landmark. The mosque’s minaret has been standing guard over the old city since the 12th century.
The gardens of Marrakech are as famous as the medina itself and with or without a particular interest in gardening you will be sure to enjoy time spent in these beautiful retreats.  The Aguedal Garden is a popular stop for Moroccan families picnicking in the shade of the surrounding trees while the Menara Garden is an agricultural estate of irrigated olive orchards. Be sure to visit the green tiled pavilion, set against the backdrop of the high Atlas Mountains, the views from here are simply stunning. The Majorelle Gardens are famous owned by Yves Saint-Laurent. Founded by two French artists, Jacques and Louis Majorelle, these botanical gardens are immaculately maintained and home a small museum which displays the eclectic artwork of Yves Saint-Laurent.
To truly experience Marrakech a guided tour is a great experience whether it be to visit the historical sights of the city such as El Badi Palace, Bahia Palace or the magnificent Saadian tombs, or take a food tasting tour around Djemaa El Fna.  Here, street food stalls cook a variety of dishes in front of you, including more adventurous options like steamed sheep heads and snail soup, bread is freshly baked for you in communal ovens.  Further afield there are many guided tours available to head into the mountains with the chance of riding camels and visiting traditional Berber villages.
