Algarve Rei Portugal

An extremely stylish vila built around an internal court yard garden and located at the 5 star Monte Rei resort, Algarve Rei is a very elegant property offering unparalleled and spectacular views of the coast from Spain to Tavira.  Both inside and out there is spectacular feature flooring, polished light red veined marble in the interior and lighter limestone outside where there is a wrap-around garden with a host of plants flowering constantly and rare birds visiting on the surrounding fences and on the lawns. The bougainvillea’s are most pronounced and frame the views of the coast and countryside from the seated patio of the living area. The space offers high end seating and sun loungers along a huge patio separating the pool from the garden so peace is present in a number of zones none of which are not over looked by neighbours. The pool is big enough for children and adults to play or just refresh yourselves in the midday sun but youngsters will need supervising or taking down to the family play pools and family restaurant ½ walk away. Tucked away at the side of the property is a huge BBQ and preparation area adjacent to the kitchen. The interior is reached through three huge sliding terrace doors. It features art work of various styles giving each room its own unique style. The living room has two large Italian leather settees and two modern wrap- around loungers with a large flat screen TV.  The TV content is very broad and International with all sports channels, art and radio stations available too. There is a large decadent marble dining table with high back leather seats and modern orange lighting. Leading from this area is the kitchen which is bright yellow and white lacquered with every modern appliance you might need including nespresso and filtered water. The ground floor has three bright individually decorated bedrooms (Purple, Green and with tasteful silk curtains and matching covers and a chair. All are marble en-suite with two single beds in two rooms and 1 double bed in the larger room, all have separate access to the outside and have delightful views. Upstairs is the main bedroom suite with a spectacular balcony offering views into Spain across the Guadiana river estuary and down to Tavira. Red is the dominant colour here with a spectacular red backed bed. There is a huge bathroom with a spectacular large red bath and a walk in shower cubicle. Separately there is a very large separate dressing area. Monte Rei resort is a “one of a kind” destination for family or golfers with an assortment of high end facilities for guests to enjoy. This opulent resort began as a golf venue built around Europe’s first Jack Niklaus signature course which quickly became the best in Portugal and in the top 10 in Europe.  With golf tuition, a studio and its own large practise area the facilities are such that many national golf teams stay to practise in the winter. The views over 1000 acres of a lake strewn hilly terrain are simply out of this world and must be seen even if you don’t play !  However it was always intended to be a family resort and has tennis courts, a family range of pools built in a village and surrounded by a rathe special garden which also offers an excellent Italian restaurant open all day long. The concierge service at the club means that you have access to support whatever happens during your stay or whatever research and booking you require.  We strongly recommend that you hire a car to get the most from the holiday, the roads are quiet if you avoid the 125 and you have a bit of time.  Local facilities are so close that your journeys will be 15 minutes each way. The area offers an unparalleled range of beaches, Mediterranean sea with acres of sand from the Guadiana to Vila Cacela which offer spectacular walks into the sun or the setting sun an adventure you must undertake one romantic evening. Estuary beaches from Vila Cacela along the coast towards Tavira all have Italian style sun shaded seats. Our housekeeper will provide you with a restaurant list and booking is recommended in the summer so don’t leave it til the day its early dining like the UK and unlike Spain.  Local towns come in huge array of styles from Tavira with its cobbled streets and Roman remains, a castle and a port with an inland waterway splitting the town to Vila Real DS on the Guadiana and a border town fronting the estuary. Most towns have their own food markets but there are also big Supermarkets Pingo Doce and Continental being the best but we also have an unusually good Aldi. Tavira market is not to be missed and is a good few hours investigating all the world’s fruit and vegetables plus an amazing fish market. Guides can be arranged by Reception and boat rips down the coast and up the Guadiana are available but the best is perhaps a day trip to Seville (you will be back). Families may well want to visit attraction around Villamoura in mid Algarve where there are more dense populations.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
