With four stunning bedroom suites, gorgeous living spaces, a chef’s dream of a kitchen and sensational outdoor space, Casa Arrochi proves to be a hit, time and time again! This luxurious villa enjoys a fantastic location in the rural environment of the Arrochella region, sitting quietly beside the Arade River, just 3 kilometres from Silves. With plenty of special treats and elegant touches, guests can relax in total seclusion, enjoying the mesmerising views of the river. The stunning beaches of the Algrave can be reached in fifteen to twenty minutes.
The red-hued town of Silves is also nestled on the banks of the River Arade, dominated by one of the best-preserved castles in the Algarve. Silves was the capital of the ancient Arab kingdom of Algarve and retains many of its ancient nods to the past. It also boasts many charming outdoor cafes, some excellent restaurants, pretty fountains, a market hall and wonderful scented orange groves. Casa Arrochi is also within easy reach of Lagoa and Portimao. Lagoa is a very pretty, historic hill town which enjoys some gorgeous, ancient buildings, some stunning art galleries and some wonderful eateries. Portimao brings delicious seafood, shopping and waterfront promenades to the table, along with one of the Algarve’s best beaches, Praia da Rocha around the corner.
Away from all the excitement of these wonderful seaside and inland towns and villages, Casa Arrochi offers total tranquility, beauty and luxury. The villa was built in 2011, using fabulous, natural materials and with interior designers waving their magic wands. The villa is surrounded by multi-level terraces, all beautiful and stylish. The shaded alfresco dining terrace is amazing with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue together with astounding countryside and river views. The outdoor kitchen enjoys a fridge so you do not need to go inside to top up glasses. You need to have some champagne chilled before you enjoy a luxurious soak in the quality hot tub, another enchanting outdoor spot with spectacular scenery. The generous 8m x 4m saltwater swimming pool is surrounded by wooden decking and top-of-the-range sun loungers where you can enjoy your holiday books and relaxing views of the river and the hills.
Inside Casa Arrochi, the decor is luxurious, tasteful and striking with modern artworks and vibrant colour splashes. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors offer stunning views and drown the spaces in natural light. The open plan living space is absolutely beautiful with sumptuous furnishings, a welcome wood-burning stove, a large television with international channels, a DVD player, an Ipod dock, elegant dining furniture and a sensational kitchen. The kitchen is incredibly stylish with polished concrete counters, gorgeous cabinetry and the very best of appliances including a stainless steel fridge, a large five-burner stove, a microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine. Doors open to the incredible social alfresco lounge and dining space.
Each of the four bedrooms enjoys lavish beds, beautifully adorned with hotel quality linens and delightful throws, stunning artwork and beautiful features. There are gorgeous beamed ceilings, pretty arches, striking contemporary lighting and beautiful views from the windows. Three of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, one of which enjoys wheelchair access. Each of the bedrooms enjoys a beautifully tiled bathroom, all completely different in style. One of the bedrooms also boasts a loft where two extra guests can sleep on request and for an additional payment. The heavenly master bedroom suite is located on the upper floor, complete with its luxury ensuite bathroom and a stunning roof terrace with sensational river views. You might have to draw straws for this one!Casa Arrochi enjoys a tranquil, secluded location on the beautiful Arade River, just 3 kilometres south of Silves. Silves is a gorgeous town with a fascinating history. This ancient Arab kingdom inherited a stately outline, the epitome of which is its red-hued castle, the largest castle in the Algarve. The castle enjoys wonderful views of the town, its fertile fields covered with orange trees and the beautiful River Arade. Silves was conquered from the Moors in 1189 by King Sancho I but the Moors were only fully expelled in 1242 by King Afonso III. The ancient mosque was transformed into the town’s cathedral, starting in Gothic style and completed during the Baroque period. Opposite the cathedral is the Igreja da Misericordia, much of which dates back to the 18th century. Silves is a crumbling place brimming with narrow, cobbled streets lined with lively alfresco cafes. It boasts a Moorish-style garden which is open daily to visitors. A defunct cork factory is now home to a couple of museums and some bars and cafes. In August, the town hosts a lively beer festival. It is good to visit the town in the morning for its colourful riverfront market, near its 13th century bridge.
Not far away is the holiday resort of Portimao and the next door Praia da Rocha. This stunning beach stretches for two kilometres, backed by huge cliffs. Portimao started out as a trading post and commercial port. Its riverside setting has reinvented itself as a tourist-loving town with excellent shopping, wining and dining. It smart waterfront promenade is sprinkled with palms, gardens and open-air cafes. Boat trips can be taken along the Arade River and out to sea to explore this magical coastline. Opposite Portimao lies Ferragudo, a typical fishing village on the banks of the Arade River. This traditional, charming village offers pretty whitewashed houses with typical chimneys and a gorgeous church on the top of the hill.
Just twenty minutes away from Portimao is Lagos with it historical hotspots, first-class collection of neon-lit bars and stunning four kilometre stretch of sand, Meia Praia.
Lagoa is an ancient town of whitewashed houses that used to rise above a lagoon. Now only the name remains as well as the local delicious wine! The town is very traditional. The cultural centre of Lagoa was originally built in 1710 as the Convent of Saint Joseph but it fell into disrepair and opened as the culture centre after a major renovation. You will discover exhibitions of paintings, photography and sculpture. The Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Luz, which means Church of Our Lady of Light, is beautiful and worth a visit. The Lady in Red art gallery is located in an unused industrial space of a big wine producer. It is a stunning display of modern art.
Near the town Estombar you will find a park called the Municipal Park of the Springs. It surrounds a spring of the Arade River and is wonderful for picnics. It is also a great place to swim and makes a change from the beach. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
