Casa Saloes Portugal
Holiday Home Rental Description
Situated in sunny Ponta de Sol – one of the warmest parts of the island, Casa Saloes is a single-storey, three-bedroom villa that oozes warmth, charm and sophistication. Ideal for families with young children, older guests and those with limited mobility, this stylish and welcoming holiday home is spacious, beautifully decorated throughout, and equipped with everything you’ll need to enjoy a luxurious and relaxing holiday to remember.
Casa Saloes features a bright, fresh, open-plan living area with a light neutral decor that is wonderfully offset by classic accents of black and red in the sumptuous corner sofa, dining furniture and soft furnishings. Comfortable and modern in design, the lounge space is perfect for relaxing with an after-dinner drink or for watching the villa’s large flatscreen TV – and there is ample room at the dining table or the stylish breakfast bar for the whole family to enjoy busy breakfasts and cosy evening meals.
The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of room for food preparation and high-end appliances for your convenience, including an oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, kettle and juicer – as well as all the crockery, cookware and utensils you’ll need to enjoy your holiday home-from-home during your stay. The villa even has a washing machine – handy for those who want to pack lighter and save some room in their suitcases for souvenirs!
Featuring two double bedrooms and a twin room, Casa Saloes is an ideal choice for couples holidaying together or for families with children. A highchair and cot are available for guests under the age of two, making sleeping and eating arrangements for groups travelling with very young children convenient and stress-free. Each bedroom is as light and airy as the rest of the villa, with neutral shades, well-crafted furniture and stylish soft furnishings for a restful and relaxing night’s sleep. Casa Saloes features two modern and spacious bathrooms with shower facilities, making life easier when everyone’s getting ready to head out for the day!
The villa’s grounds are neat and well-maintained, with a pleasant lawn area for relaxing and a covered seating area with high-quality furniture – the ideal spot to enjoy a morning cuppa or to curl up with a good book. There are sun loungers near the property’s private pool, which can be heated for an extra charge and has steps instead of a ladder, making it easily accessible for all. The villa also features an open garage area where you’ll find table tennis and a swingball set – perfect for the kids or for a bit of friendly family competition!Ponta do Sol (Sun Point) is located on the south side of Madeira and is considered the hottest part of the island, enjoying more hours of sunshine on average than any other. The town has a beautiful historical centre, home to pretty chapels such as Sao Sebastiao and Santo Antonio, and is rich in agricultural heritage – predominantly sugarcane and banana production. The area boasts some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the region and offers beautiful forest hiking trails, as well as some excellent beaches. Of course, like most on Madeira, these are all pebble beaches, so if you want to enjoy golden sands during your stay, we recommend heading to Calheta.
The beach at Calheta is one of the only sandy beaches on the island, and this large, beautiful, man-made beach can get fairly crowded in the summer months, largely down to its soft sands and easy accessibility. The kids will enjoy the family-friendly vibe here and the fact that they can paddle and swim in safety thanks to the barrier that creates an enclosed swimming area and prevents the larger waves from spoiling the fun! There are some great amenities available, including ample parking, parasol hire, grocery stores and a fantastic beachside cafe that serves fruit platters and great coffee at very reasonable prices. The cafe plays music during the day and even has WiFi that reaches down to the beach, so be sure to get the password when you’re in there buying refreshments!
While you are here, be sure to head to Calheta’s famous harbour promenade and all it has to offer in the way of restaurants, attractions and shopping opportunities. This historic and beautiful town is a hotspot for those who love all manner of outdoor pursuits, including hiking, biking, surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving and paragliding, and you’ll find lots of companies in the local area offering courses and equipment hire. Calheta is also one of the most fantastic spots on the island for whale and dolphin-spotting, and you’ll find plenty of places offering whale-watching tours, fishing tours and boat trips along the marina.
