Spend days dune jumping and kite flying down on the caster-sugar sands. Then follow the A-listers down into Comporta or Carvalhal (both just a short drive away) to dine on the freshest seafood imaginable at its see-and-be-seen restaurants.
Back home, this place is a minimalist’s dream. Pad across the cool, brick-paved floors to discover six bedrooms as stylish as the next, with smooth concrete ensuite bathrooms, and through a linking walkway, a fabulous guest quarters with teenager’s crib written all over it. But the clincher has to be the open-concept, cavernous living space with a bank of double-height windows to bring the outside in. Rustle up brunch and mimosas in the chef-worthy kitchen to savour at that vast dining table with room for you all. Then the rest of the day is yours to lose yourselves to that pool oasis fringed by ancient cork trees and shady terraces – there’s so many, we’ve lost count.
