Villa Logarinho Portugal
Holiday Home Rental Description
Situated near the idyllic village of Prazeres, Villa Logarinho is a charmingly rustic holiday accommodation that pairs luxurious design with high-end, functional amenities. Resplendent throughout with exposed ceiling beams, rich, heavy woods and top-quality furnishings, the villa offers everything you and your guests could desire to enjoy a memorable and relaxing holiday on one of the most beautiful parts of the island.
With a stunning country-cottage vibe, Villa Logarinho is warm and welcoming, with a light, neutral decor and incredible ocean and island views that provide an ambience that is sure to stay with you long after you’ve left. The living area is spacious and bright, yet cosy, with comfy sofas and soft furnishings, as well as a log burner and large flatscreen TV – all of which lends itself perfectly to family evenings in, talking about your day over a hot drink or perhaps a glass of local wine.
There’s plenty of space at the chunky wooden dining table for rustic feasts and hearty breakfasts and a well-equipped kitchen in which to prepare them in style! Here you’ll find everything you need to cook as you would at home, with an oven, microwave, fridge, coffee machine and toaster, as well as cookware, crockery and utensils. The villa also has a washing machine and dryer, making your stay extra convenient and allowing you to pack a little lighter if you wish.
Villa Logarinho features two double bedrooms to accommodate up to four guests, and both rooms are decorated in the same rustic, country-cottage style as the rest of the property, with a light decor accented by rich woods and sumptuous furnishings. For those staying with very young children, a cot and highchair are available on request, and the villa also has two stylish and functional bathrooms for your convenience.
There is no pool at Villa Logarinho, but it does feature a quirky and interesting garden area and terrace, complete with sun loungers – perfect for relaxing and enjoying the property’s remote location and breathtaking sea views. There is a covered barbecue area with a large brick-built grill and dining table situated just off of the kitchen. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a busy day and soak up the villa’s tranquil atmosphere while enjoying a bite to eat with family or friends. The small and beautiful agricultural village of Prazeres is one of the most picturesque locations on the island, a place of beauty situated on a natural terrace that overlooks the glittering Atlantic. Despite its remote-looking rural setting, there is a small supermarket and several restaurants nearby, and it’s just a short drive to the nearest beach.
Prazeres is home to the small and pretty ‘Our Lady of Prazeres’ chapel, as well as a delightful little parish-run project farm, herb garden and tea house, so a quiet afternoon of exploring this charming little village is definitely time well-spent. You’ll find a variety of local agricultural produce on offer here, as well as some quaint places to enjoy a coffee or a slice of cake, and across from the farm, there is a small exhibition of arts and crafts that is well worth visiting.
The island of Madeira is famous for its hiking trails, and several of the best begin right here in Prazeres – making it the perfect location for those who want to spend their holiday enjoying the great outdoors. For those who want to spend some time at the beach during their stay, you’ll find the closest at nearby Calheta, a seaside town that is known as one of Madeira’s most idyllic and historic areas. Calheta is famous for its banana and sugar cane plantations and its vineyards, as well as for having one of the only golden sandy beaches on the island – making it a go-to place for tourists. The area features a modern marina and is popular with visitors who love outdoor pursuits, including surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving and paragliding. It’s also one of the most fantastic spots on the island for whale and dolphin-spotting, and you’ll find plenty of places offering whale-watching tours and boat trips along the marina.
While in Calheta, why not pay a visit to the Mudas Museum – a must-see destination for lovers of contemporary art. Here you’ll find a collection of contemporary Portuguese art dating from the 1960s to the present, although it’s worth knowing before you make the trip that the museum is only open Tuesday to Sunday. Another small yet interesting museum that is well worth a visit when you visit Calheta is the Sugar Cane Mill and museum – especially as entry is free! The museum houses machinery that was once used to process sugar cane, as well as a working mill which is still used to produce sugar cane honey today.
