Villa Pelado Portugal
Holiday Home Rental Description
Situated in a quiet, family-friendly neighbourhood, Villa Pelado is a wonderfully spacious four-bedroom accommodation nestled in the heart of the idyllic village of Prazeres. Offering guests luxurious and modern surroundings, this contemporary-style villa provides everything you’ll need to enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay on one of Portugal’s most beautiful islands.
Featuring a light and neutral decor throughout, punctuated with hints of natural wood and incredibly stylish furnishings, Villa Pelado is ideal for larger families or friendship groups holidaying together. The ground floor is open-plan, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors allowing in plenty of light and showcasing some spectacular ocean views. There is a comfortable living area in which to unwind and relax, featuring a comfy sofa, large flat screen TV, and modern, stylish fixtures and artwork for a luxurious yet homely feel. There is ample dining space for up to eight guests at the large wooden dining table, as well as seating space at the adjoining breakfast bar – the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine as you prepare dinner or to tuck into a hearty breakfast.
Villa Pelado’s kitchen area is spacious and well-equipped, with a contemporary palette of light wood and cream tones and plenty of food prep space, storage, and high-end appliances. Here you’ll find all of the cookware, glassware, crockery and utensils you’ll need during your stay, as well as an elegantly integrated oven, coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
The property features four stylish bedrooms (two doubles and two twins) and four uber-modern bathrooms that are decorated and maintained to the same impeccably high standard as the rest of the villa. Each bedroom showcases incredible landscape and ocean views – a real feast for the eyes upon waking – and all offer a calm and restful environment, with comfortable beds and quality soft furnishings.
Villa Pelado has an equally impressive outdoor space, with double doors opening out from the living area and onto the pool terrace. The private pool is sunk into the decked area and is surrounded by sun loungers – the perfect spot to recline with a good book or a cool drink on a hot day. There’s also a fully-furnished and partially covered outdoor lounge area, which offers the ideal place to enjoy pre-dinner drinks or a morning cuppa as you take in those fantastic island views. For alfresco dining, the villa benefits from a built-in barbecue grill and open-air dining table for up to eight guests; enjoy the best views on the island as you raise a glass to family and friends in this little slice of paradise. Villa Pelado is situated in the small and beautiful village of Prazeres, one of the most picturesque locations on the island of Madeira. Prazeres is a place of beauty, sitting on a natural terrace that overlooks the glittering ocean and offering a holiday steeped in peace and tranquillity. Despite its remote-looking rural setting, the villa is just a two-minute walk from the nearest supermarket and several restaurants, and a very short drive from the nearest beach, so all the essential amenities are conveniently close at hand.
Prazeres is home to the small and pretty ‘Our Lady of Prazeres’ chapel, as well as a delightful little parish-run farm, herb garden and tea house, so a quiet afternoon of exploring this charming little village is definitely time well-spent. The island is famous for its hiking trails and several of the best begin Prazeres – making it the perfect location for those who want to spend their holiday enjoying the great outdoors. For those who want to spend some time at the beach during their stay, you’ll find the closest at nearby Calheta, a seaside town that is known as one of Madeira’s most idyllic and historic areas. Calheta is famous for its banana and sugar cane plantations and its vineyards, as well as for having one of the only golden sandy beaches on the island – making it a go-to place for tourists. The area features a modern marina, as well as being popular with those who love outdoor pursuits, including hiking, biking, surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving and paragliding. It’s also one of the most fantastic spots on the island for whale and dolphin-spotting, and you’ll find plenty of places offering whale-watching tours and boat trips along the marina.
While in Calheta, why not pay a visit to the Mudas Museum – a must-see destination for lovers of contemporary art. Here you’ll find a collection of contemporary Portuguese art dating from the 1960s to the present, although it’s worth knowing before you make the trip that the museum is only open Tuesday to Sunday. Another small yet interesting museum that is well worth a visit when you visit Calheta is the Sugar Cane Mill and museum – especially as entry is free! The museum houses machinery that was once used to process sugar cane, as well as a working mill which is still used to produce sugar cane honey today.
