We’re getting some major tropical vibes from the exterior of this home, which looks as though it could have been plucked from the depths of a humid rainforest, rather than nestled in the hinterland of Costa del Sol.
Stroll through the gorgeous gardens and you’ll find plenty of cosy seating areas to curl up, a tiki-style outdoor kitchen for evening cocktails, as well as a cool swimming pool complete with a waterfall feature that’s illuminated in technicoloured hues come nightfall. Every inch is shrouded by lush greenery and carefully chosen exotic flowers – and the cherry on top of it all is the hot tub, perfect for a midnight bubble under the stars.
Inside, the decor is more typical Spanish, with a certain quirky flair. We especially love the huge floor-to-ceiling windows – which allow light to flood in and create a sense of the outside being invited in – as well as unique touches such as the table and chairs made by repurposing old barrels. Now that’s what we call recycling!
During your stay, you’ll have the chance to explore the pretty hillside villages that dot the surrounding area, such as the lovely whitewashed village of Alhaurín el Grande or Coín, the streets of which are lined with eateries and bars frequented by locals and tourists alike. Don’t miss out on the chance to sample local Spanish tapas dishes, or for adventures further afield, head to Málaga – it’s about 31km away.
