Rent Villa Redwood Hibiscus Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
You’d be forgiven for thinking that, instead of being in the verdant hinterland of the Costa del Sol, this home was located in the midst of a vast, untamed rainforest. The pool area in particular, surrounded by lush greenery, gives the impression of a unique rainforest retreat, while the outdoor dining area overlooks a vast array of palms and other tropical-looking leaves, alongside the other flora and fauna typical of the area. Feel a million miles away from it all as you gaze out over the Sierra from the more than 1500 square foot private terrace, glass of full-bodied Spanish wine in hand.
Step inside and you will find a beautifully quirky, Asian-inspired interior – one which promotes a sense of well-being and calm. The home offers a range of handy, high-end amenities within its carefully thought-out, eclectic spaces that seamlessly blend traditional Spanish with Far Eastern elements.
Having awoken in a four-poster bed, why not start the morning by luxuriating in one of several deep bathtubs? Or, for something slightly more strenuous, you can always work up a sweat in the outdoor gym. Then, make your way along the cool tile floor, past the gorgeous stained-glass windows, and into the fabulous kitchen complete with intricate wooden cabinets and copper pots to prepare breakfast. Of course, those tropical-feeling outdoor terraces were simply made for lingering over a leisurely breakfast, catching up on the day’s news, and preparing for the day ahead.
Make the scenic two kilometre into the heart of the authentic Andalusian village of Alhaurín el Grande, the streets of which are lined with typical whitewashed buildings that house eateries and bars frequented by locals and tourists alike. Don’t miss out on the chance to sample local Spanish tapas dishes, one of our favourites being Ensaladilla Rusa (a kind of Russian-inspired fish and potato salad).
Should you fancy venturing further afield, you can always head down towards the coast and the popular resorts that line it, including Torremolinos and Mijas, just 30 minutes away by car for a day of sun, sand, sea (and maybe some Sangria). Or, for something a little more active, why not explore the gorgeous mountain scenery that surrounds this traditional Spanish village on foot or by bike? Golf enthusiasts need not travel too far to tee off, as the nearest course is just six kilometres away.
