A five-bedroom, six-bathroom luxury estate in the mountains of Benahavis in Southern Spain. The estate comprises an elegant villa, an apartment and a manor farmhouse and is set amongst over 600 hectares of woodland, making it one of the Cost del Sol’s most exclusive and private getaways.
The drive to the property is as spectacular as the estate itself: winding through the green mountains of Andalucia, you’ll find yourself surrounded by stunning views of the countryside until you come to the villa’s driveway. From here, you’ll tread the rustic orange tiles to the villa as you take in the views before heading into the courtyard. This is one of several spaces in the estate where you can completely relax and soak in the garden views with a glass of wine in hand.
On the ground floor are a large, fully-equipped kitchen and an ultra-chic dining room decorated with unique tiling. The large table seating fourteen on a flagstone floor really brings people together and has been used by many guests for their formal or informal occasions! With a chef available to hire, you can really ramp up the luxury dining during your stay and be treated to some amazing Spanish feasts.
Two sitting rooms are available, one with a TV and a stack of books. Guests love to curl up here under the overhead wooden beams and soak up the tranquillity. There are also fireplaces to keep you cosy on cooler nights and large french doors which open onto the gardens for warmer days. The largest of the two rooms opens out onto a terrace which has an outdoor dining area, perfect for eating al fresco. You can also relax on the day beds underneath the greenery.
The rooms are typical of the attention to detail that’s gone into the house and boast original decor, furniture and textiles. The understated elegance runs through the entirety of the traditional estate and boasts a unique charm that’s practically unrivalled in the region. This carries through to each of the five bedrooms. Guests can choose from one of the three large double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, a double bedroom and a single bedroom, which are joined by their shared bathroom. There’s also a two-bedroom apartment with private access, one large double room with an en-suite, and one twin room.
Guests are spoiled for choice with outdoor space and leisure facilities! Shaded daybeds overlook the estate, and there are two large swimming pools (one heated) lined with sun loungers. For those who love some active relaxation, there’s a tennis court with its own covered viewing area, and to keep the kids entertained, there is a games/TV room with table tennis, a pool table, and darts.Hacienda Amores is located in the Andalucian town of Benahavis. Famed for its natural surroundings, the town is nestled amongst stunning greenery and traditional Spanish white-washed houses. Top of the list of attractions is the surrounding woodlands and rivers, which make a great day hike for locals and visitors alike.
A twenty-five-minute drive away is Pepe’s beach Chiringuito restaurant. This much-loved local has been here since 1975, serving up superb Mediterranean dishes. There’s indoor or outdoor dining, or you can get comfortable on the sun beds as the evening sets in. On a clear day, you can see Gibraltar and the Northern coast of Africa, and there’s often live entertainment to go with the meals!
Another twenty-five-minute drive from the villa is the luxury marina complex of Puerto Banus. Sandwiched between the mountains and the sea, the marina is the perfect place to see and be seen, snap those all-important selfies, and indulge in the best fine dining Andalusia has to offer. The glamourous town is rich in high-end shopping malls, restaurants and bars. Shop ’til you drop at the luxury boutiques that line the streets then hit the waterfront to eat, drink and be entertained.
San Pedro de Alcantara, a buzzing town which is full of history and popular with day-trippers, is just a short drive from the villa. The town has retained its authentic Spanish charm over the years and remains relatively untouched by the surrounding developments. Spend a day exploring the narrow streets of the old town and visiting the small shops, cafes and bars that line them. Take a stroll along the palm tree-lined promenade before you settle into a restaurant for tapas and wine and bask in the warm Spanish air.
A fourty-minute drive away is Marbella. Surrounded by the Sierra Blanca mountains, the vibrant coastal city has something to suit everyone, not just the jet-set crowd. The old town is immaculately maintained and characterised by mazes of narrow lanes with colourful houses, flower boxes and draped in stunning bougainvillaea. You can see why the beaches continue to be such a draw for tourists year after year!
Golfers will also be in their element with several top-tier golf courses available in the area to practice your swing on.
