Casa Guadamia Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
If you’re searching for the perfect place to get away from it all, Casa Guadamia is an idyllic, three-bedroom countryside retreat that is sure to take your breath away. Built in the traditional Asturian style using high-quality materials, this two-storey villa features exposed wooden beams and hardwood flooring, warm, chunky furniture, and a wood-burning fire. The decor throughout the villa is light and fresh, with tones of cream, grey and white, which are perfectly complemented by rich, heavy woods and handsomely crafted furniture. Casa Guadamia’s large windows allow in plenty of light and ensure that guests can enjoy stunning countryside and mountain views in every direction.
The living area offers the perfect space for rest and relaxation, with cosy soft furnishings, a comforting hearth and a flatscreen TV – perfect for those evenings when you just want to chill. There’s ample dining space at the rustic-style dining table, and the kitchen is incredibly well-equipped, with a fridge, washing machine, oven, induction hob, toaster and microwave. You’ll also find enough crockery and glassware for you and your guests and luxurious extras such as a juicer, Italian coffee maker and a blender – so rustling up a family feast couldn’t be easier.
Casa Guadamia features a ground-floor bedroom and a hydromassage shower and the other two bedrooms can be found on the first floor, as well as the family bathroom, which features a luxurious bathtub. The first-floor balcony is ideally situated for watching the region’s incredible sunsets, so be sure to crack open a bottle of bubbly or prepare a hot cuppa and take in one or two during your stay! All of the bedrooms are spacious and well-lit and are decorated to the same high standard as the rest of the villa. The views from the bedrooms are stunning, and you’ll also be delighted to find plenty of wardrobe space so that you can unpack, store your cases in the handy understairs cupboard, and feel truly at home.
The grounds of Casa Guadamia really are a sight to behold, with tall oaks providing plenty of privacy and shade and ample space for sunbathing, relaxing, or playing outdoor games with the family. On the grounds, you’ll be able to pick hazelnuts and walnuts, as well as watch the horses and cows grazing in the surrounding fields, before retiring to the patio area complete with dining furniture and barbecue – the perfect space for dining alfresco in style. Casa Guadamia is ideally situated between Ribadesella, Llanes, Nueva, and Poo (pronounced ‘Poe’) and is perfectly located for those who want to spend a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature. Hiking is popular with guests here, with cliff trails leading from Guadamia to Ribadesella, and there is a wide choice of beautiful beaches to visit in the region. Guadamia beach is just a five-minute drive from the villa and is well worth a visit during your stay. This natural, small sandy beach is located in a quiet, picturesque spot between the cliffs and features clear, calm waters and scenic meadow views.
Llanes, Nueva and Poo also have their fair share of delightful beaches, including Cuevas del Mar, which is particularly popular with families thanks to amenities such as a recreation area, toilets, showers and ample parking. It can get quite busy during the summer months, but it is well worth a visit with the kids, who will enjoy the mixture of white sand and pebbles and calm to moderate swell.
If you’re looking for a quieter beach, it’s worth seeking out the incredibly beautiful Torimbia with its half-moon bay or Playa de Poo. Llanes also features two incredibly unique interior beaches that have no seashore, Cobijeru and Gulpiyuri – both of which have been declared natural monuments. The seawater makes its way through tiny tunnels in the limestone cliffs to these unusual beaches, and both make wonderful picnic spots for families who are holidaying with small children. In short, if a beach holiday is your thing, Asturias has you covered!
Nearby Ribadesella is one of the most charming coastal towns in the region and offers plenty to see and do, including the famous Playa de Santa Marina beach (a favourite spot with surfers!), prehistoric caves, stunning architecture, and plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. The vibe here is very laid-back and relaxed, with the focus being on beautiful views, quiet walks and authentic Asturian cuisine. For something quite spectacular, be sure to visit Bufones de Pria, massive geysers that have been formed over the years by the waves creating holes in the cliffs. As the waves crash, the water is forced through the holes and is blown high into the air, making for some really epic scenes.
