Rental Description

This newly-built Menorcan villa has spectacular views overlooking the Port of Mahon and the Isla del Rey. The stunning exteriors are traditionally whitewashed with open sides, archways and pillars. A terrace runs along with the upper level of the villa, where guests can enjoy epic sunrise views. As Menorca is at the easternmost tip of Spain, it gets the first sunrise in the country.
There is a gorgeous shimmering pool with enough room for proper swimming – it runs parallel to the sea, similar to an infinity pool. There are a Roman-style step area and plenty of space for sunbathing by the pool. On one side there are sunbeds and umbrellas to relax under. There is an outdoor lounge on the patio, furnished with bamboo sofas and white cushions. The beautiful archway frames the sea view.
Behind this area, there is a lovely dining area with a long table next to a rockery garden filled with plants and palm trees. There is an excellent kitchen with everything you could wish for to create delicious meals, including a freestanding Range cooker with five gas hobs and an additional steam oven. There are an American fridge-freezer and a Nespresso coffee machine. Decorated in white with a kitchen island and a grey stone worktop, this space is as stylish as it is functional. There is also an indoor dining area that leads straight out to the patio and garden.
There are nine bedrooms at this villa spread over two floors and an attic. The master bedroom is very spacious – wake up to gorgeous views. It also has a gorgeous ensuite with a freestanding tub and a walk-in shower. The attic room is a family room with plenty of space and a lovely terracotta rug, one double and three single beds – ideal for families with young children. The rest are a mixture of double and single beds, with blush, grey or chartreuse bedspreads and white walls. There is also a service area where staff sleep on the ground floor, including a shower and laundry room.
The living room is designed in a minimalist-chic style, with sleek wooden furniture and neutral sofas to curl upon. The open-plan area is very spacious and even has a pool table on the side. There is an additional study/playroom with a television and extra beds. Around the villa, there are plenty of places to relax – there are even couches in the corridor upstairs. This villa is situated in Es Castell, just a short walk from the Calas Fonts harbour, lined with bars, shops and delightful restaurants. This area is bustling with people enjoying an evening stroll around the promenade in the summer; There are street entertainment and a lively atmosphere. Es Castell is a charming residential area. The villa is a 15-minute drive from several of Menorca’s stunning beaches and the Cala Corb, a working fishing cove.
Overall, the island of Menorca has a more relaxed, languid feel than its Balearic neighbours of Majorca and Ibiza, but there is still a multitude of activities for all tastes including water parks, horse riding and plenty of great tapas.
One of the most spectacular beaches is the Calas Coves, with lapis-coloured water framed by cliffs. The beach has an ethereal quality beloved by visitors and locals alike. Alternatively, visit the island’s best-kept secret, Cala Escorxada, via a one hour hike from Santo Tomas. Follow the coastal route to be rewarded with pristine sands, impossibly turquoise water and fewer people than other beaches in the area.
Another harbour close to the villa is Mao, also known as Mahon. It is made up of a 2km-long stretch lined with cafes and art galleries in Menorca’s capital. There are lovely boutiques where you could pick up some locally-crafted avarcas sandals – Menorca is known for shoemaking.
Descend the steps of the harbour to admire the yachts and visit the famous gin distillery. Guests can take a tour and sample Xoriguer gin, a local speciality. In terms of food, local Menorquin dishes include baked squid, lobster stew, octopus and sobrassada – paprika-spiced sausages.
Jeep Safari Menorca is a unique way to discover the island’s varied wildlife. Local guides take groups of passengers in 4x4s around the backroads and hidden gems of the island, checking out indigenous flora and fauna. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about local life and the animals that inhabit the island, such as the black Menorquin horse.
To get an amazing panoramic view of the island, head to El Toro, Menorca’s highest peak. To reach the top, there is a moderate 2 hour hike that most guests should be able to manage. For a dazzling and unique view, adventurous guests can try paragliding above the island. Glide, in tandem with an experienced instructor back to the ground – it will be a breathtaking experience.
