Casa Emmez Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
Casa Emmez is a traditional, sprawling villa set in beautiful, mature gardens just outside Alcudia Old Town, in the area of Mal Pas. It is just minutes from lovely sandy beaches. The villa has gated entry and a winding drive. It can comfortably accommodate 12 guests. Two of the bedrooms are in an annexe. The villa has a rustic feel to it and is clearly loved by the owners who have their coat of arms on the stained glass front door.
Mal Pas is a lovely area with two beautiful little coves, 2 minutes walk from each other. You can take it in turns to visit Playa de Sant Pere and Playa de Sant Joan, though you might also want to visit other beaches including the wonderful Port Alcudia beach. Both of the beaches look towards the stunning Cap Formentor. Alcudia Old Town is absolutely enchanting and bound to be a real attraction for an evening stroll and dinner.
Casa Emmez has a wonderful garden with some lovely planting, a fabulous 10m x 5m pool surrounded with sun loungers, freshwater well, many covered terraces and a large summer house. The summer house has glass walls to three sides and houses a huge dining table as well as a kitchen, brick fireplace and a bathroom.
Outside you will find a summer kitchen with a large brick-built barbecue, a sink and fridge. You could pre-order beer for the covered pool bar’s fridge! There are many places to chill and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can always find a shady spot if the sun is too much. Children will enjoy the table tennis table.
The ground floor of the villa is very spacious. The traditional living and dining room has 3 sofas, a marble dining table, grandfather clock and access to a covered terrace and the pool. The dining area has a Mallorcan chandelier and a wood-burning stove as well as lovely views over the garden. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is a separate laundry room. Some of the bedrooms are downstairs. There is a very spacious master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a huge twin with its own sitting room and a bathroom plus a further twin.
Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms, both with ensuites. One has access to a terrace. There is also terrace access from the landing. The views of the mountains and the Bay of Pollensa are lovely.
Across the courtyard, you will find the annexe which has a sitting room, a log burning stove, dining table and 2 twin bedrooms. One has an ensuite bathroom, plus there is another bathroom.
The location of Casa Emmez is wonderful, so close to two sandy beaches and the popular scuba diving and sailing region of Bonaire and also very close to the fabulous old town of Alcudia.
Alcudia Old Town has such a warm ambience. Its narrow cobbled streets are sprinkled with charming boutiques, fabulous restaurants and colourful Romeo and Juliet balconies. In the 16th century, pirates were coming from Africa and ransacking the coastal villages. People moved inland to protect themselves, hence the Old Town of Alcudia. The warren of narrow streets inside the Medieval walls has been perfectly restored and ooze their warm appeal to tourists. The town puts on a whole host of cultural events, traditional fiestas and classical music festivals.
The first-class gastronomic restaurants serve some fantastic meals. If you are wandering around the old town, you should be sure to visit the 19th-century Neogothic parish church of Sant Jaume. Thriving markets take place on Tuesdays and Sundays. All sorts of local produce are sold as well as souvenirs, linens, leather goods and jewellery.
Contemporary art fans should visit the wonderful Sa Bassa Blanca Museum. The gardens are stunning, and there are contemporary sculptures to see there too.
Mallorca is a real hot-spot for cyclists. The rugged, mountainous terrain and winding roads are perfect for a challenging ride. The Mallorca 312 cycle race takes place each year over 312km of the island with an altitude gain of 5050m. The start and finish of the race are in Playa de Muro, near Alcudia and you have 14 hours to complete the course!
Pollensa Old Town and Port de Pollensa are not far away and are definitely worth a visit. The enchanting Old Town is packed with ancient blonde stone architecture, boutiques, restaurants and cafes. An hour’s hike takes you to the top of the Puig de Maria, a 14th-century monastery atop a large hill overlooking the town. The panoramic views are delightful. The port, a few kilometres north, has glorious beaches and fantastic restaurants and chic bars.
