Located in the sleepy village of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, just 1km from San Agustin, Can Vinyeta is a pretty, traditional-style villa set over one spacious storey. Accommodating up to six guests and featuring beautifully private surroundings, this charming property is the perfect holiday hideaway for families looking to relax and recharge their batteries in the sun.
Light and airy throughout and decorated in soft, neutral tones and accents of rich wood, the villa’s living space is wonderfully welcoming. There is a cosy lounge space with sofa-bench seating, a flatscreen satellite TV, a decorative fireplace and a stylish coffee table. A well-stocked bookcase separates the seating area from the large dining space, which features ample room for up to six guests at the modern, glass-topped wooden table. It’s a great space for enjoying intimate evening meals with the whole family. You’ll find additional dining space in the villa’s spacious, well-equipped kitchen – perfect for indulgent breakfasts or a quiet morning cuppa. There’s plenty of storage and food-preparation space and lots of high-end appliances that include an oven and microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle, juicer, toaster, coffee machine and dishwasher.
Can Vinyeta feature three charming bedrooms, all decorated in the same style as the common areas of the villa and complete with comfy double beds – little havens of rest and relaxation. Guests share the use of two modern bathrooms, one with a bathtub and the other featuring a modern hydromassage shower.
The villa’s completely fenced grounds are idyllic, from the pink blossom-adorned trees overhanging the front terrace to the lush lawn area and surrounding trees. The furnished porch provides a covered alfresco dining space, as well as offering a great place to relax with a good book or to enjoy after-dinner drinks while taking in the tranquil surroundings. When it’s time to soak up some rays, why not head to one of the poolside loungers to top up your tan before taking a refreshing dip in the pool! The water is easily accessible via Roman steps, making it easy for guests of all ages to enjoy – it’s the perfect addition to this beautiful island retreat. Can Vinyeta is situated in the charming village of San Josep, a pretty, white-washed village set slightly inland on Sa Talaia, Ibiza’s tallest mountain. Dominated by its pretty church and enjoying beautiful coastal views, San Josep is bursting with traditional charm, and visitors come here to enjoy the friendly local atmosphere that is far removed from the island’s world-famous party scene.
Life here is laidback and easy-going, and you’ll find plenty of wonderful bars and restaurants to enjoy during your stay, giving you a chance to sample delicious Ibicencan cuisine, seafood and tapas. Souvenir hunters will be pleased to know that there are also some lovely little shops in the village selling local handmade goods and fashions, antiques, and children’s toys.
Can Vinyeta is just a km away from San Agustin, one of the best-preserved and prettiest villages on the island. With its picture postcard good looks and breathtaking panoramic views of the San Jose hills and countryside, a visit to this little hidden gem is highly recommended. The 19th-century Esglesia de Sant Agusti church, with its solid walls, cubic design and bell tower, is a wonderful example of Ibicenco architecture, and the traditional-style houses with their unusual chimneys and immaculately-trimmed hedges are real sight to behold. You’ll discover a lovely little restaurant in the village that serves up local fare on a stunning terrace and even an art gallery.
If you’re lucky enough to be visiting San Agustin towards the end of August, you can join the locals for a week of celebrations as they enjoy their annual village festival, which includes a church procession, traditional folk dancing and concerts that carry on long into the night.
The nearest beach to Can Vinyeta is Cala Tarida, around a ten-minute drive from San Josep. This beautiful stretch of white sand is set in a sheltered bay and is the longest and widest beach on this side of the island. The waters are crystal clear and shallow, making it a good choice for those with children, although parents should be aware of underwater rocks and currents. There are shops right on the beach where you can buy inflatables and snorkel gear, as well as a variety of beach bars and restaurants where you can grab anything from drinks and snacks to three-course gourmet meals.
There are great amenities available here, including sunbeds and parasols, public toilets, lifeguards and disabled access. If you want to do more than just lay back and soak up the sun, there is a range of watersports available here, including kayaking and jet-skiing.
