Villa Celiriu Spain

Luxury Villas
| 4 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

Situated above the picturesque little town of Tamariu, this modern villa is presented across multiple levels, with wonderful views over the rugged pine-covered hills and surrounding landscape. With its spacious layout of rooms, Villa Celiriu is the ideal place to unwind and enjoy the solitude and tranquillity of this privileged setting.
Built over three floors, the spacious villa is flooded with natural light. Bright rooms are modernly styled, with large openings to frame views out to the natural setting. Accessed from a ground-floor entrance hall, where there is also a generous parking area, each level is inviting, and the views become increasingly impressive as you ascend.
All four bedrooms are found on the first floor. The main suite is minimally furnished with a double bed, built-in wardrobes and a smart private shower room. Large sliding doors draw in the daylight whilst providing access to a shared terrace, a wonderful space to wake up and marvel at the view as the day breaks. Along the corridor are three further bedrooms. Unfussy and spacious, each has a double bed, with the two middle bedrooms sharing a shower room that connects them. The fourth bedroom benefits from its own ensuite with a toilet and shower.
Continuing up the main staircase, which wraps around a central courtyard and tree, the second floor is dedicated to the living spaces, making the most of the privileged positioning and spectacular views. A modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need and looks out over a covered courtyard with a large dining table and barbecue. Framed by the concrete structure of the house, this terrace is a unique spot to set up the grill and cook an evening meal to share with everyone. The rest of this level unfolds into a glorious open-plan living space, barely separated from the surrounding terrace, with large glass openings and sliding doors to create an almost seamless boundary. Bright and comfortable, there is an internal dining table giving way to the stylish living area. Positioned between the terrace and pool, the sofa invites you to sit back and enjoy the shifting light and weather and is an amazing spot to watch the rain during the cooler winter months.
With ample space for everyone, there is an assortment of outdoor furniture and loungers to recline in. Indulge in a book or take a lunchtime siesta under the shaded canopy. The private pool invites you to cool off from the midday heat, dip your toes in the water, or lie back and float beneath the vast blue skies.Enjoying a privileged and secluded position, slightly set back from the coastline, the villa is just a short walk from the charming town and beach of Tamariu. Deriving from the numerous tamarisk trees dotted along the seafront, Tamariu was once a small fishing village, and fisherman’s boats still draw up on the beach alongside the sailing boats that dock within its deeper waters. With its golden sands, the crescent-shaped beach slopes gently to the water, making it a lovely place to spend the afternoon and take a refreshing swim on the gentle shore.
Enjoying a mild climate, this coastal region of Catalonia is popular amongst divers, with numerous caves to be explored and the more renowned submerged mountain of Llosa de Cala Nova. For those looking for an underwater adventure, the nearby Stolli Dive Centre has a strong reputation and caters for both beginners and more experienced divers. For a more land-based adventure, follow the coastal path southwards from Liris Cove to the idyllic Cala Pedrosa (‘stony cove’ in Catalan). This unspoilt pebbled cove boasts turquoise waters and an old fisherman’s hut that has been converted into a small cafe, perfect for enjoying a fruit juice or hearty rice dish cooked in the open air.
Tamariu itself has an adequate supply of mini-marts, shops and bakeries, and there is a selection of larger grocery stores a short drive away. With its proximity to the sea, the town also offers a selection of restaurants serving fresh seafood and a variety of Catalan dishes. Why not head down for a leisurely lunch and sample traditional plates of tapas or enjoy the catch of the day?
A short drive along the coast takes you to the larger settlements of Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell. The latter is a maze of narrow streets, traditional dwellings and tiled roofs. Frequented by the Spanish escaping Barcelona, there is an abundance of eateries, from casual tavernas to upmarket fine dining. A local favourite is La Blava, tucked into the corner of the bay and offers a range of classic tapas dishes with a beautiful view out to the sea, or dine on the beach itself at the popular Tragamar restaurant.
For those seeking out a bit of culture, this region has plenty of history dating back to its occupation by the Romans until the 4th century A.D, The medieval city of Pals is just 20 minutes drive inland, where you can discover the cobbled streets and Gothic Quarter, with its semicircular arches and stone balconies. Just south of Calella de Palafrugell are the Jardíns de Cap Roig, a beautiful garden estate created in 1927 that brings together history, botany and art. A centre point is a castle built with the region’s ferruginous stone, and during the summer months, there are many music festivals and fiestas to enjoy. Why not make a visit to learn about the hundreds of plant species and stop off for a late lunch and afternoon swim at one of the charming beaches as you make your way back up the coast?
