The famous ‘Golden Mile’ is one of the most desirable locations on the Costa del Sol. It is the epitome of luxury, extravagance and opulence, the playground of the rich and famous. The Golden Mile is sprinkled with first class restaurants that offer the finest dining experiences and wonderful opportunities for celebriting spotting. With its close proximity to the swanky Puerto Banus with its boutiques, stunning marina and luxury cars lining the pavements, the Golden Mile is very popular with the Spanish elite.
Villa Boston boasts the most incredible living space which opens onto a very lavish terrace. The outside space of the villa is just as impressive as the interior with luxury day beds, a stunning swimming pool that looks even more beautiful when lit up at night, a superb summer kitchen, stylish alfresco dining and a pristine, manicured garden. The pool is surrounded by a beautiful deck brimming with luxurious sun loungers, parasols, bean bag beds and double day beds. The main living space is open plan in design with a wonderful flow between the different spaces. The main lounge area boasts opulent furnishings, gorgeous cladding, a giant wall mounted television and a super cool, contemporary fire. The stunning parquet flooring leads into a sensational dining area, complete with a contemporary, bespoke art piece of the Queen, ultra trendy overhead lighting and a gorgeous dining suite, all with beautiful garden views through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Separating the chef’s dream of a kitchen and the dining area is another beautiful contemporary fire, recessed in another wooden clad pillar. The kitchen is smart, stylish and super impressive. The marble worktop blends beautifully with the dazzling white and wooden cabinetry and the appliances are top notch. A fabulous breakfast bar sits at the end of the central island, a sociable spot for guests keeping the chef company. The alfresco dining area is just outside. A dazzling laundry utility room is also very impressive.
Villa Boston boasts five sensational bedrooms, three of which offer spectacular, uninterrupted sea views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Drowned in natural light, they are heavenly retreats which are beautifully furnished. The decadent beds are beautifully dressed with hotel quality linens and the rooms feature a mix of wooden cladded feature walls, yet more super cool fires, exquisite marbled bathrooms, opulent seating, gorgeous lighting and beautiful views. Three of the bedrooms offer ensuite bathrooms with the remaining two sharing one. One of the rooms enjoys two double beds and a lovely, vibrant colour scheme, perfect for children and adults alike. Aloha Golf Club is one of the most prestigious and well-established clubs on the Costa del Sol. Aloha has hosted the PGA Tour three times in recent years and offers a parkland course of Par 72. The immaculate course undulates through trees and lakes with phenomenal views of La Concha Mountain and the Mediterranean Sea. The designer, Javier Arana, designed the course with a wide range of trees and shrubs that boasts beautiful displays of colour throughout the year. With Marbella’s Golf Valley next door, stunning marinas on the doorstep and fantastic gastronomic restaurants nearby, there is an endless supply of entertainment waiting for guests arriving at the villa.
The upmarket, fast-set Puerto Banus is brimming with luxury boutiques featuring all the best names, super yachts and luxury sports cars. Puerto Banus was designed and built in 1970 by local property developer Jose Banus. Brilliant for star spotting, it has become one of the largest entertainment centres in the Costa del Sol with more than five million annual visitors. The opening of Puerto Banus was attented by the Aga Khan, the film director Roman Polanski, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, Dr Christiaan Barnard, Prince Ranier and Princess Grace of Monaco and a young Julio Inglesias was hired to sing for the guests. Three hundred waiters served twenty two kilos of Beluga caviar to 1700 guests! A Salvador Dali sculpture, the large Rhinoceros weighing 3.6 tonnes features in the resort.
The glamorous and glitzy Marbella holds its own with the French Riviera and other hot-spot destinations in Europe. Michelin-starred restaurants, manicured, challenging golf courses, marinas bustling with high-end yachts, chic, designer boutiques, glitzy entertainment and never-ending golden sandy beaches are all in abundance in Marbella. The Arabic characteristics of Plaza de los Naranjos, the old part of Marbella and its balconies adorned with beautiful, vibrant flowers are totally captivating. The square’s restaurants place their tables in a small formal garden bordered by orange trees. Visitors enjoy a labyrinth of narrow pedestrian streets laid with red tiles and crazy paving and beautiful plazas full of trendy, upmarket bars and restaurants and unique shops offering souvenirs, olive oil, local pottery and lace. The buildings are all whitewashed, wrapped in bougainvillea and topped with terracotta roofs, many dating back to the renaissance. Alameda Park is just a few steps south of the Old Town and feels like a private garden. There are marble walkways, fountains and benches, all under a thick canopy of tropical foliage. Many of the benches are clad with azuleos, classic Andalusian hand-printed tiles. The handsome walkway, Avenida del Mar, leads from the park to Playa de la Venus, next to Marbella’s first class marina. It boasts towering palm trees and bronze sculptures designed by Salvador Dali. The central Plaza de la Iglesia is very beautiful and often hosts vibrant markets and concerts. Besides the typical Andalusian cultural events, there are annual festivals dedicated to music including the Marbella International Opera Festival held in August, the Marbella Reggae Festival in July plus the Marbella International Film Festival in June.
