Perched on a hillside, 6 km from the charming village of Frigiliana, sits this four-bedroom country-style villa.
The property is twenty years old but has been designed with old-world Spanish charm and features exposed beams and terracotta floors. However, it still has all the modern comforts you could ask for, including WiFi, air-conditioning and a TV.
The lounge has a wonderful sense of tranquillity with its exposed brickwork, comfy sofas and large patio doors and windows. There’s also a log burner to keep things cosy on winter nights. A brick archway leads through to the rustic dining room with seating for ten people and is overlooked by an attractive kitchen featuring state of the art appliances, including a fridge freezer, fruit juicer and coffee machine. A stable door opens out from the kitchen onto a pretty courtyard. Here you can pick your own fruit from the garden and add it to your breakfast while soaking up the mountain views. Afterwards, spend time catching up on work or reading a book from the vast selection in the study. Three bedrooms are located on this floor, one with twin beds and two with doubles. The rooms are cheerful, uncluttered and awash with natural light. One room features an en suite shower room while the other rooms share a bathroom.
Upstairs there’s a huge master bedroom that is adorned with homely touches, including soft furnishings, a polished mirror and ambient lighting. There’s also a spacious dressing area, three built-in wardrobes and a Moroccan-style tiled tub in the neat bathroom. But best of all is the sweeping mountain and sea views that can be enjoyed from the glorious terrace. Back on ground level, the views from the pool are just as dazzling. Spend time relaxing poolside or on hot days, escape the heat of the day and retreat to the shady summerhouse complete with cushioned seating and a delightful hammock. Come evening, there’s a barbeque and table, seating twelve people, where you can sit back, relax and watch as the sun sets over the sea.
Although the property’s countryside setting is idyllic, villa Elionor is still close to amenities. The picturesque town of Frigiliana with its shops and restaurants is just a 10-minute drive away, and the beaches of Nerja are a further 15-minutes by car.Surrounded by mountains and panoramic sea views, Villa Elionor is a serene and tranquil place to live. It’s the perfect area for those wanting to immerse themselves in nature and outdoor activities. Several hiking trails can be found at the nearby Sierra Almijara National Park where you can walk and soak up the beautiful landscape with its gorges, waterfalls and mountain streams.
Despite the remote setting the picturesque village of Frigiliana is just 10-minutes drive away. Once voted the most beautiful in all of Andalucía it features pretty whitewashed houses, cobbled streets, colourful potted plants and stunning views of the Costa del Sol. The village has a multicultural history and as you stroll towards the centre you’ll see historic buildings and sites of Christian and Muslim origin dotted alongside the cobbled streets. In the centre, be sure to climb the steps and you’ll be rewarded with the most spectacular views of the coastline. Afterwards enjoy some refreshments at one of the many authentic restaurants.
In the nearby town of Nerja, a 20-minute drive south, you can enjoy a spot of shopping at the local boutiques and markets. There are also several historical attractions including the Balcon de Europa, a viewing point where an impressive Moorish watchtower once stood. It offers spectacular panoramic views of the Sierra Almijara mountain range and the beautiful Mediterranean coast and is the location for many concerts and fiestas. The famous Nerja caves are also worth a visit. They extend for miles and are full of dramatic cavities and columns, stalagmites and even the world’s longest stalactite.
If you’re looking for a day at the beach you’ll be spoilt for choice as Nerja boasts twelve sandy beaches with the most popular being Playa Burriana. This beautiful beach is a 20-minute drive from the villa and the perfect place to relax. Children can safely swim in the calm water or build castles on the shore, and there are also plenty of water sports to choose from including kayaking, paddle boarding and even paragliding.
