Situated on the virgin southwest coast of Menorca, just a five-minute walk from the beach, stands Finca Saura, a luxury five-bedroom farmhouse set among fifty hectares of stunning garden, farmland and forest – the perfect countryside retreat! Visually incredible both inside and out, this traditional-style two-storey finca is a delight to the senses, featuring a classic country-farmhouse aesthetic throughout. The interior has a neutral colour palette, with white walls and cream-tiled floors, and plenty of beautifully-crafted wooden furnishings for a rustic and homely feel.
A cosy TV room provides the perfect place for lounging and relaxation and includes sumptuous seating and a 55-inch TV with a soundbar – great for enjoying a quiet night with the family at the end of a busy day. Indoor dining can be enjoyed in the separate dining room, an elegant space complete with a beautiful dining table crafted from raw wood and seating up to ten guests. Luxurious family meals can be created in Finca Saura’s well-equipped kitchen, which is bursting with high-grade appliances, including an integrated oven and hob, SMEG toaster and kettle, juicer and blender, as well as ample food-preparation space and plenty of cookware, crockery and utensils.
The villa’s rustic yet contemporary style continues through into the bedrooms, all of which feature a light and airy ambience and sumptuous furnishings. Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor – both with double beds, ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning. Guests staying in these ground-floor havens can enjoy beautiful views of the garden, and the rooms are complete with TVs, perfect for a lazy morning’s viewing before joining the rest of the guests. The other three bedrooms, equally beautiful in design and decor, are found on the first floor – all are stylish doubles and feature the same amenities as the ground floor rooms with garden views, TVs, air-conditioning and ensuite shower facilities.
Privacy and seclusion are guaranteed here at Finca Saura, with stunning rural vistas stretching out as far as the eye can see. The villa features beautifully landscaped gardens for sunbathing and relaxation, and you’ll find plenty of furnished seating areas, including a poolside lounge area complete with a plush white corner sofa – a great spot for soaking up the sun while the kids play – and a delightful rooftop terrace for taking in more of your spectacular surroundings. Alfresco meals accompanied by stunning views will be a highlight of your stay, and the villa’s covered dining area and barbecue lend themselves perfectly to family meals and after-dinner drinks that can continue long into the evening.
The separate pool house and terrace provide guests with a great place to spend the afternoon, with an outdoor shower for convenience and, of course, the wonderful private pool. The water can be heated for your comfort and is easily accessible by steps, making it easier for guests of all ages to get in and out safely. After a day of sunbathing, swimming and relaxing, why not head down to the beach along the private access path for a sunset stroll – a wonderful way to end the day here in your little private island hideaway. Finca Saura is just a five-minute walk from Son Saura-Bellavista, one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches on the island. Easily accessible to guests via a private pathway, the beach features crystal clear turquoise waters and soft sands surrounded by pine forests and stays relatively quiet compared to some of the other beaches in the region, even in peak season. You won’t find much in the way of amenities here, so Excellence Luxury Villas recommends packing up your own food,  water and towels if you’re planning on spending the day here.
If you want to experience more than just sun, sand and idyllic views, Finca Saura is just a short drive from the former capital Ciutadella, a place which guidebooks often refer to as ‘Menorca’s prettiest city.’ Ciutadella is a great base for day trips to the local beaches and other highlights of the island and is famous for its historic harbour, street art culture and gentle buzzing nightlife. The pastel-hued streets make a refreshing change from the typical white-washed towns of the region and are dotted with little shops and delis where you can pick up some local produce to enjoy back at the villa. Excellence Luxury Villas recommends heading down to the marina during your stay, where you’ll find a variety of cafes and restaurants serving up delicious fare to suit all tastes and budgets, as well as offering spectacular views.
From the harbour, you’ll be able to book boat trips to explore more of the coastline – including a full-day trip lunch and a unique swimming and snorkelling experience on a 10-metre wooden sailboat. It’s worth knowing that highly-rated and affordable trips are incredibly popular, so it’s worth booking early so that you don’t miss out!
Playa Cala Blanca is the main beach here, a golden sandy stretch that is a fabulous location for enjoying some of the best sunsets in the Med and a great spot for spending a day soaking up the sun. The beach is popular with families thanks to its warm, calm, clear waters, soft sands, and amenities that include sun-lounger and umbrella hire, as well as with those who love to snorkel! There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby for refreshments, as well as gift shops – and even an Irish pub!
