The villa is bright and fresh throughout, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass doors that allow plenty of natural light and showcase the stunning interior decor to perfection. The aesthetic here is contemporary and elegant, with dazzling white-washed walls and high-end furnishings. The villa’s roomy lounge space offers guests panoramic garden views and includes plump cream sofas – perfect for sinking into at the end of a long day – as well as a flat-screen satellite TV for the family nights in. Villa Santandria includes an incredibly spacious open-plan kitchen/diner with a large table that seats up to eight guests and overlooks the private pool terrace. Rustling up family meals here is a breeze, with plenty of high-end appliances that include an integrated oven and hob, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher, as well as a variety of cookware, crockery and utensils. The villa also benefits from the addition of a washing machine – perfect for families who are enjoying an extended stay.
All four bedrooms at Villa Santandria are decorated and furnished to the same high standard as the rest of the villa and are all complete with sumptuous double beds and private ensuite bathrooms for added convenience. A cot is available in the villa for the very youngest guests – so there’s no need to worry about bringing your own.
The villa’s enclosed and well-maintained garden features a large lawn area, which provides a wonderful space for sunbathing or a safe area for the kids to play. Alfresco family meals can be prepared courtesy of the villa’s built-in barbecue and enjoyed undercover on the shaded porch, which is complete with a dining suite and separate furnished lounge area – a lovely spot for enjoying pre-dinner drinks and conversation. No private villa would be complete without a private pool – and the one here at Villa Santandria is huge! – perfect for swimming or for just splashing about. The water is easily accessed via steps, so there’s no need to worry about having to help younger guests in and out and it is surrounded by comfy sun loungers for reclining and watching the world go by.  Villa Santandria is situated just a few metres from the beach of Sa Caleta, a small stretch of soft white sand attached to a calm bay, and located next door to Santandria Beach. The beach is easily accessible for those with pushchairs or limited mobility, and there are some great amenities available, including a sunbed and umbrella-hire and places to buy food and drink. The water here is clear and calm, and there are lifeguards on duty for peace of mind – so it’s a great place to bring the children. For those who want to try their hand at water-based activities, it’s a popular beach for swimming and snorkelling, and it’s also possible to rent paddle boats to explore the bay.
The villa is 2.3 km from the former capital Ciutadella, a place which guidebooks often refer to as ‘Menorca’s prettiest city.’ Ciutadella is a great base for day trips to the local beaches and other highlights of the island and is famous for its historic harbour, street art culture and gentle buzzing nightlife. The pastel-hued streets make a refreshing change from the typical white-washed towns of the region and are dotted with little shops and delis where you can pick up some local produce to enjoy back at the villa. From the harbour, you’ll be able to book boat trips to explore more of the coastline – including a full-day trip lunch and a unique swimming and snorkelling experience on a 10-metre wooden sailboat. Playa Cala Blanca is the main beach here, a golden sandy stretch that is a fabulous location for enjoying some of the best sunsets in the Med and a great spot for spending a day soaking up the sun. The beach is popular with families thanks to its warm, calm, clear waters, soft sands, and amenities that include sun-lounger and umbrella hire, as well as with those who love to snorkel!
