There are fewer more soothing sights to wake up to than the sea and you can be greeted by the Med every morning in this wonderful villa perched just above Tenerife’s coastline. Unsurprisingly, it’s not the only spot at the address from which to admire the coastal panorama. Head up to the rooftop terrace – preferably around sunset time – and you’ll be blown away by the scenery.
Inside, the interior design lies a little on the traditional side in places, as seen with the exposed stonework, terracotta tiles and wooden furnishings. However, it doesn’t feel dated in the slightest – more a respectful homage. We particularly like the large and eclectic collection of artwork, as well as the plant-filled courtyard back down at ground level. One thing we didn’t expect to find was a sauna, but we can’t imagine there will be many complaints about this unlikely presence.
As you can probably tell from a glance out the window, it won’t take you long to reach the beach – in fact, there’s a rocky patch only twenty metres from the front door, while the sandy Playa Del Poris is only a hundred metres away, as well. There are a few restaurants and bars in surrounding Poris de Abona, but if you have a car, you’ll able to head over to attractions ranging from a waterpark and golf courses to beautiful national parks..
