Inside, the decor of this home is stylish and luxurious – expect lots of neutrals, sumptuous beds, and marble-clad bathrooms. But that oh-so-spacious private terrace is what's getting us hot under the collar. Sunny mornings (of which there will be many) call for lazy brunches under the shade of the retractable pergola (mimosa, anyone?), followed by a sun-worshipping session on the loungers.

When it's time to beat the heat, the shared swimming pool with a children's area will be a hit for a cooling dip, or pack up a beach bag and hit the coast. Some of Marbella's most glorious sandy coves, including the famed Puerto Banús, are just a short drive away. Or keep things local and amble down the wide Avenida del Marques del Duero flanked by palm trees leading to the shores of San Pedro Playa (one kilometre away). Its golden sands back by chiringuitos serving the freshest seafood imaginable might be all the holiday feels you need.
