If you are looking for a villa that is breathtakingly beautiful, featuring stunning views, and an elegant, luxurious interior bursting with colour and character – look no further than Villa Perella. Villa Perella is stylish and unique throughout, nestled in a forest clearing, surrounded by acres of lush countryside and featuring amazing sea views. The interior is bright and roomy with a predominantly white decor that is punctuated by intensely beautiful colours in the richly textured furnishings, stunning artworks and ornate fixtures. The living area features several comfortable seating spaces, including sumptuous sofas and armchairs, a large wall-mounted flatscreen TV for your entertainment, and access through arched double doors to the terrace. There is plenty of dining space for up to eight guests in the luxurious dining area, as well as a stunning open fireplace and more pops of luscious colour in the rugs, curtains, and spectacular coloured-glass chandelier that hangs over the table. Managing to never look ‘chintzy’ or overwhelming, each room is a true work of art, including the fully-equipped kitchen, which features everything you and your guests will need to prepare busy breakfasts and fabulous evening meals during your stay.
There are six fabulous bedrooms and five bathrooms in the main house of Villa Perella, all featuring underfloor heating and all decorated to the same beautiful high standard, with glorious artwork and light fixtures, gorgeous soft furnishings and ornate yet functional furniture. The master bedroom benefits from en suite facilities as well as a dressing room and two private terraces that offer views of the Morna Valley and the ocean. There are also a four further luxurious double bedrooms, one with en suite facilities. Villa Perella also features a separate guest house with a kitchen, bathroom and private terraces.
The grounds of Villa Perella are a haven of peace and tranquillity, with areas for lounging and relaxing, as well as a jacuzzi and a private pool. There are delightful covered areas ideal for alfresco dining, as well as luxurious loungers and parasols – everything you could possibly need to enjoy this private slice of island paradise.  Villa Perella is situated close to the small but well-known village of San Lorenzo, an area that is home to a rich and vibrant cultural scene. Famous in the 1960s and 1970s as a hippy village, the area is still popular today with those that enjoy peace, tranquillity and community spirit.
The near village of San Carlos enjoys a bohemian yet cosmopolitan ambience, featuring a mix of traditional, modest fincas alongside newer properties that have been built to reflect the style and charm of this beautiful location, all surrounding the beautiful white church at the centre of the village. You’ll find a good selection of bars and restaurants in San Carlos, including the famous Anita’s Bar – once famous with the hippy community as they had the only phone in the village – the original booth is still there (and functional!) today. Whether you’re after a sleepy cafe or a fine-dining experience, you’re sure to find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and once you’ve enjoyed some of the local delicacies on offer, be sure to stroll through the village to the surrounding shops where you can browse for colourful fashions and charming souvenirs.
While you are staying in the village, Excellence Luxury Villas recommends heading to nearby Las Dalias (less than 1km from San Carlos) and visiting the original hippy market, where you’ll find larger-than-life characters and vibrant stalls on the ivy-covered terraces and courtyards. During the summer months, the market is there long into the evening, slowly giving way to the nighttime events that take place on the beautiful open-air terrace, continuing later in the village’s club, Akasha, which features incredible acoustics, cool design, and DJs and live acts from around the world.
San Carlos itself is at a junction that branches off to some gorgeous local beaches, including Cala Lena, Cala Nova and the nudist-friendly Aguas Blancas – all featuring facilities including loungers, parasols, and lifeguards, with restaurants and beach bars nearby. Cala Lena is particularly popular with families as there is good access for pushchairs and the disabled, toilets, clear, shallow waters (ideal for the kids!), and pine trees offering shade – perfect for a secluded and relaxing picnic with family and friends.
