Built over four storeys with traditional local stone, this detached villa can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests, ideal for a large family or friend’s get-together. The villa comes with its own parking space and complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout. From the seriously impressive top-floor master suite to the lower ground-floor games room, every attention to detail has been beautifully attended to. Villa Ada Manzara has been furnished throughout with an interior decorator’s meticulous eye, with four beautifully designed ensuite bedrooms, stylish contemporary statement pieces, state-of-the-art equipment, and collectable art and artefacts. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors flood the villa with natural light and give access to sea-view terraces and all four-bedroom balconies.
Enter the villa at ground floor level, where there is a light and airy, finely furnished, open plan living space with pool terrace access and panoramic Mediterranean Sea views. The seating area is stylishly furnished with a caramel-coloured suede sofa and two large matching armchairs, coffee and occasional tables, and two bright orange standard lamps, all facing an Adams-style open fireplace, fabulous for those cooler months and evenings. For your entertainment, there is a flat-screen television, a DVD player, an iPod docking station, board games, and a selection of books and DVDs. The adjacent wooden dining table with funky suede chairs can seat up to ten guests, ideal for some impressive indoor entertaining. The large white and dove grey hand-made bespoke kitchen with granite top island and stainless steel appliances is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for your holiday, including a family-size fridge-freezer, gas hob, electric oven, and microwave, and that must-have morning coffee maker, and even a blender-liquidiser for your healthy smoothie.
The four bedrooms are arranged over the first and second floors. Take the stairs to the master suite, which occupies the whole top floor. The room is exquisitely furnished with a super king-size four-poster bed, romantically draped with billowing white curtains. There is a large soft toffee-coloured sofa bed, fitted full-length louvre door wardrobes, a dressing table and mirror, and an ensuite marble bathroom with a walk-in shower, double vanity unit, and a separate loo. Enjoy the sunrise on the stunning sea view, fully furnished balcony, with a coffee or tea from the in-room facilities, including a convenient fridge. The other three ensuite double bedrooms can all be found on the first floor. The Paris Room has a wrought metal artisan designed king size double bed, dark grey soft seating and furnishings, an ensuite marble bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a sea view balcony with sun lounger recliners, as well as a safe in which to keep all of your valuables. The Bay Room has a white-framed king-size bed, fully furnished and decorated with animal print cushions, an ensuite marble bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a sea view balcony with a dining table that can seat up to six guests, with some dinner with a view. The fourth bedroom is the Botanic Room with two single beds, which can be pushed together to make one king-size bed, smartly decorated in crisp white and sea blues and prints from nature, with soft seating and a dressing table and wardrobe, an ensuite marble bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a balcony with sun loungers and a shady pergola to keep you cool in the summer sun.
The piece de resistance terrace can be accessed via the floor-to-ceiling doors of the living space; step through to be greeted by as far as the eye can see sea views and an inviting roman step easy entry infinity swimming pool. Rattan-style sun loungers surround the swimming pool with dove grey cushions and shady parasols. Cool off under the outdoor shower before a cocktail or two at sunset in the soft seating area. There is a matching dining set under a shady pergola with a built-in barbeque, the perfect place to dine alfresco under the twinkling stars. The Ottoman Games’ Room is located on the lower ground floor for the more active members of your party. Enjoy a game of pool on the British pub-style table, play a game of table football, challenge each other with the X-box consoles, and refresh yourselves from the fridge and water cooler, before reclining on the sofa bed to watch the latest blockbuster on the fifty five inch flat screen television. And if you must, you can always do a holiday wash in the adjacent laundry room with washing machines, ironing board, and drying racks.Villa Ada Manzara is located in the hillside of Kisla, to the east of the quaint harbour town of Kalkan, situated on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, the jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. The town of Kalkan is 125 kilometres from Dalaman Airport, a scenic one and a half hour journey through the Turkish countryside and Taurus mountains. Originally a Greek enclave called Kalamaki, Ottoman and Hellenic influences can be found in the winding cobbled streets of the old town, full of traditional white houses, festooned with brightly coloured bougainvillea, and home to a reputed one hundred and fifty restaurants, cafes, and bars, and lots of souvenir and craft shops, full of goodies you’ll want to take home. From the villa it is a short walk to the local mini market for your daily provisions. Take a three minute drive into Kalkan where you can find supermarkets, shops, banks, and a local Thursday market, that can provide all the you will need to cater for a happy holiday.
Within walking distance of the villa are a few of Kalkan’s best and most exclusive beach clubs, with bathing platforms, fabulous restaurants, and some with full size swimming pools and spas. Most notably Villa Ada Manzara is situated just above the superbly smart Villa Mahal, where you can dine by candlelight as the waves lap the seashore. Or you may enjoy a day at the beautifully dressed Zest, with its wood burning pizza oven and infinity pool. Take a trip into town on a complimentary water taxi to one of the many inviting beach clubs on the opposite side of the bay. No stay in Kalkan is complete without a boat trip from the harbour, whether it’s a shared one with family and friends, or why not charter your own private gulet for a day at sea with your favourite captain and crew, it is the stuff memories are made of. All aboard for a day of swimming and snorkelling in beautiful bays, enjoy a meal of local homecooked meze, take afternoon tea aboard, and then sail back to harbour, cocktail in hand to watch the famous sunsets. For the beach bunnies, Kalkan has its own pebble beach with easy access into the calm and crystal clear Mediterranean Sea. Travel further afield to the stunning Kaputas Beach, set in a natural gorge, it’s only two hundred steps down, and two hundred back up again. Or take a trip to Patara, where you will find two two-thousand year old amphitheatres, ancient ruins, and fortifications, and twenty kilometres of unspoilt golden sands, with a protected area for the hatching Caretta Caretta turtles.
Back on land don’t miss the opportunity to experience an authentic Turkish hammam, enjoy the heat and bubbles of a hands-on massage, and be pampered in one of the many super spas all over town. For those with itchy feet the Lycian Way walking trail cuts through Kalkan. Follow in the footsteps of thousands of years of history, as you trek the trail taking you through major archaeological sites, local villages, dramatic coastlines, and the areas’ flora and fauna. Take a short journey to the town of Kinik, where you can step back in time to the Lycian city of Xanthos. Follow the D400 to Fethiye, and discover the historical sites of Patara, Letoon, Tlos, and Pinara, where you can see the ancient ruins, amphitheatres and temples with Lycian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine influences. The harbour town of Fethiye is also full of ancient sites worth seeing, as well as a foodie-heaven fish market, and home to some seriously good designer labels and fabulous jewellery shopping. Whilst the nearer town of Kas is just twenty-five kilometres away, and worth the journey alone along one of the world’s most stunning and dramatic coastlines.
