Prepare to be wowed with a stay at the Villa Aiyla, taking luxury villa holidays to the next level. This stunning floor to ceiling, glass fronted, three storey. luxury villa concept with two swimming pools, will simply take your breath away. Villa Aiyla has five capacious double bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, and balconies with panoramic sea views, and can accommodate up to ten guests in comfort and style, perfect for a large family or friend’s sharing. The villa has its own parking spaces, and comes with complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout. The architect designed villa is a contemporary glass and steel construction, with an interior decorated with a Mediterranean white and neutral palette with splashes of primary colours for dramatic effect. The villa is situated at the top of Kalkan town, built into the hillside, and as such commands scenic views of the original old town and harbour, the iconic Mouse and Snake islands, and as far as the eye can see, to the horizon of the turquoise Mediterranean Sea and beyond.
Enter the villa at ground floor level where you will find a spacious open plan living area, flooded with natural light from the floor to ceiling glass windows, offering superb sea views. The seating area is a three-sided wrap around elephant grey and tangerine orange sofa, which can comfortably accommodate all ten guests at one sitting. The sofa is arranged around wooden coffee tables, facing a flat screen television with built-in Netflix. The adjacent natural wood dining table has ten turquoise and white upholstered chairs for some excellent indoor entertaining. A stainless steel and brown fully equipped kitchen will cater for all of your holiday requirements, including an American style family sized fridge freezer, an island with in-built hob, and the essential morning coffee making machine. Take the stairs to the first floor where you will find three large double bedrooms, two with double beds, one with two twin beds. All of the bedrooms have beautiful carpentered built-in wardrobes, air-conditioning, glass fronted furnished balconies with super sea views, and ensuite marble bathrooms with double basins, and walk-in showers. The second floor has two further bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with two twin beds, again with wardrobes, air conditioning, sea view balconies, and ensuite bathrooms. On the top terrace there is the smaller of the two pools, a substantial 4.9m x 2m, a jacuzzi bath with a sea view, a hammam steam room, a wooden Finnish style sauna, and a state-of-the-art gym, to keep you fit and healthy on your holidays. In the white rattan soft seating area, you can enjoy a morning coffee as the boats go out to sea, or wind down with an evening sundowner as they make their way home.
The paved pool terrace can be accessed via the floor to ceiling sliding doors of the living area, which open to reveal a step entry rectangular swimming pool fronted by clear glass so that you can still admire those sea views whilst doing a few lengths. The pool has an inset area for sun loungers, where you can enjoy relaxing with the latest holiday blockbuster whilst your feet dangle in the cooling water. The pool is surrounded by modern mesh sunbeds complete with parasols to offer some shade from the summer sun. An L-shaped grey and orange soft seating area with matching swing seat is the perfect place to sip a cocktail or two at sunset. The undercover outdoor fully equipped kitchen is the perfectly place to prepare a dinner to be enjoyed at the white eight-seater dining table, where you can experience alfresco eating under the twinkling stars. Villa Aiyla is located in Kiziltas, a residential villa area at the top of the quaint harbour town of Kalkan. Nestled in the hillside with magnificent views, the villa is situated on the Turkish Turquoise Coast, the jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. Kalkan is 125 kilometres from Dalaman Airport, a scenic one and a half hour journey through the Turkish countryside and Taurus mountains. Originally a Greek enclave called Kalamaki, Ottoman and Hellenic influences can be found in the winding colourful cobbled streets of the old town, full of traditional white houses and home to a plethora of restaurants, cafes and bars, and souvenir shops full of goodies you’ll want to take home. From the villa it is a quick walk to local shops and supermarkets, and a short drive into Kalkan where you can find banks, and a local Thursday market, that can provide all the provisions for a happy holiday. Within walking distance of the villa are a few of Kalkan’s best and most exclusive beach clubs, with bathing platforms, fabulous restaurants, and some with full size swimming pools. Or take a trip into town and take a complimentary water taxi to one of the beach clubs on the opposite side of the bay. No stay in Kalkan is complete without a boat trip from the harbour, whether it’s a shared one with family and friends or you charter your own gulet, a day out at sea with your favourite captain and crew, is one to treasure. All aboard for a day of swimming and snorkelling in beautiful bays, enjoy a meal of local homecooked meze, take afternoon tea, and then sail back to harbour cocktail in hand to watch the sunset. For the beach bunnies, Kalkan has its own pebble beach with easy access into the sea. Travel further afield to the stunning Kaputas Beach set in a natural gorge, or take a trip to Patara, where you will find twenty kilometres of unspoilt golden sands and a protected area for the hatching turtles. Kalkan is home to a number of beach clubs along the length/ of its coastline, have some fun in the sun at family-friendly resorts offering water sports and swimming pools, or relax and unwind at exclusive luxury destinations and be waited on hand and foot whilst enjoying alfresco spa treatments. For those with itchy feet the Lycian Way walking trail cuts through Kalkan. Follow in the footsteps of thousands of years of history, as you trek the trail taking you through major archaeological sites, local villages, dramatic coastlines, and the areas’ flora and fauna. Take a short journey to the town of Kinik, where you can step back in time to the Lycian city of Xanthos. Follow the D400 to Fethiye, and discover the historical sites of Patara, Letoon, Tlos, and Pinara, where you can see the ancient ruins, amphitheatres and temples with Lycian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine influences. The harbour town of Fethiye is also full of ancient sites worth seeing, as well as a foodie-heaven fish market, and home to some seriously good designer labels and fabulous jewellery shopping. Whilst the nearer town of Kas is just twenty-five kilometres away, and worth the journey alone along one of the world’s most stunning and dramatic coastlines. Walk through the harbour to the cobbled streets full of Ottoman architecture and overhanging balconies festooned with pastel coloured bougainvillaea, barter for unique handmade and antique goods in its many shops, and make memories dining in one of the traditional restaurants serving authentic Turkish cuisine with mesmerising sea views. And if you’re feeling intercontinental hop on the twenty-minute ferry from Kas to the Greek island of Meis, where you can explore the Blue Cave and dine by the water’s edge.At
