Enter the villa at ground floor level to discover the joys of open plan living and a space that is flooded with natural light from the floor to ceiling sliding doors which open out to panoramic sea views. There are two separate seating areas, the first with a beautiful blue curved sofa, the perfect place for relaxing in front of the flat screen tv. The second area has two large neutral grey sofas with blue scatter cushions and an armchair around a coffee table. There’s a writing table for penning those postcards home or enjoy a good book in the cosy under the stair’s nook stuffed with fat cushions. A round solid wood table with ten grey upholstered chairs is ideal for indoor entertaining. The adjacent L-shaped white and wood kitchen is fully equipped to cater for all your holiday cooking. A convenient guest cloakroom completes the ground floor.
Take the wooden staircase to the first floor, where you will find three generous sized bedrooms. The master bedroom is elaborately decorated with a carved king size dark wooden bed and soft grey and dusky pink fabrics. This well-furnished room has a flat-screen tv, and a free-standing light draped jacuzzi bath, an ensuite marble shower room, and a balcony with as far as the eye can see sea views. The second bedroom has a double bed, and is decorated with dark wood, complemented with olive green and gold textiles. The room features a vanity unit, chaise longue, built-in wardrobes, a flat-screen tv, an ensuite shower room, and a balcony with sea views. The third bedroom is an ensuite twin room with two single beds, furnished in dark wood with a nautical theme and a balcony with sea views. On the second floor there are two further double ensuite bedrooms. One is furnished with light woods and hessian fabrics, a double bed, an ensuite shower room, and a balcony with sea views. The other is monochrome with a double bed, seating area, vanity unit, ensuite shower room, and a sea view balcony.
The pool terrace can be accessed by seventeen steps from the ground floor. The 12m x 4m L-shaped infinity swimming pool has various depths and an in-built circular platform with comfy cushions on which to relax, sunbathe and sip cocktails. Eight rattan cushioned sun loungers surround the pool, and a further two are perfectly positioned on a decked bathing platform for maximum tanning. Shaded seating areas house rattan sofas and chairs, a covered pergola provides cover from the sun, and a hammock invites you to lounge and looks at the endless vista. A large dining table and ten chairs, and barbeque is the ideal spot for some alfresco dining under the stars. Whilst for those fancying a bit of activity there is a full-sized table tennis table and football table, fun for all the family.
Villa Hamza is located on the hillside of Kalamar Bay, west of the exclusive holiday hot spot of quaint Kalkan. The villa is within walking distance of family-friendly Kalamar Beach Club, and near to local restaurants and bars, and shops selling essentials for your stay. The town of Kalkan is short five minute drive, and 125 kilometres from Dalaman Airport, a scenic one and a half hour journey through the Turkish countryside and Taurus mountains. Originally a Greek enclave called Kalamaki, Ottoman and Hellenic influences can be found in the winding streets of the old town, full of traditional white houses and home to a plethora of restaurants, cafes and bars, and souvenir shops full of goodies you’ll want to take home.
No stay in Kalamar is complete without a boat trip from Kalkan harbour; whether it’s a shared one with family and friends or you charter your own gulet, a day out at sea with your favourite captain and crew, is one to treasure. All aboard for a day of swimming and snorkelling in beautiful bays, enjoy a meal of local homecooked meze, take afternoon tea, and then sail back to harbour cocktail in hand to watch the sunset. For the beach bunnies, Kalkan has its own pebble beach with easy access into the sea. Travel further afield to the stunning Kaputas Beach set in a natural gorge, or take a trip to Patara, where you will find twenty kilometres of unspoilt golden sands and a protected area for the hatching turtles. Kalkan is home to a number of beach clubs along the length of its coastline, have some fun in the sun at family-friendly resorts offering water sports and swimming pools, or relax and unwind at exclusive luxury destinations and be waited on hand and foot whilst enjoying alfresco spa treatments.
For those with itchy feet the Lycian Way walking trail cuts through Kalkan. Follow in the footsteps of thousands of years of history as you trek the trail taking you through major archaeological sites, local villages, dramatic coastlines, and the areas’ flora and fauna. Take a short journey to the town of Kinik, where you can step back in time to the Lycian city of Xanthos. Follow the D400 to Fethiye, and discover the historical sites of Patara, Letoon, Tlos, and Pinara, where you can see the ancient ruins, amphitheatres and temples with Lycian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine influences. The harbour town of Fethiye is also full of ancient sites worth seeing, as well as a foodie-heaven fish market, and home to some seriously good designer labels and fabulous jewellery shopping.
Whilst the nearer town of Kas is just twenty-five kilometres away, and worth the journey alone along one of the world’s most stunning and dramatic coastlines. Walk through the harbour to the cobbled streets full of Ottoman architecture and overhanging balconies festooned with pastel coloured bougainvillaea, barter for unique handmade and antique goods in its many shops, and make memories dining in one of the traditional restaurants serving authentic Turkish cuisine with mesmerising sea views. And if you’re feeling intercontinental hop on the twenty-minute ferry from Kas to the Greek island of Meis, where you can explore the Blue Cave and dine by the water’s edge.
