If you are looking for a stay in beautiful Bitez, then Villa Hattis has it all. This unique architect designed villa is located bang in the centre of Bitez, with beaches and boutiques almost on your doorstep. Villa Hattis is a detached property, built of classic Mediterranean white stone, with two storeys in a semi-circular shape with a double aspect frontage. The villa is set in gorgeous gated grounds and gardens populated with mature tall trees which gives it a sense of privacy, green grass lawns, and your own private swimming pool. The property comes with private parking, and complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout, for you comfort and entertainment. Villa Hattis has four spacious double bedrooms, and can comfortably accommodate six to eight guests, ideal for a large family or friend’s sharing. The villa is impeccably maintained with well-tendered gardens and super smart interiors. The furniture is stylish and contemporary, whilst the complementary décor is a crisp clean white with a neutral palette of soft greys and beiges. Enter the villa via the ground floor front door and on one side you will find a spacious living area. The large lounge has floor to ceiling sliding doors, flooding the room with natural light, and opening onto the tiled terrace. There are two big comfy beige sofas, a white pouffe, a wooden coffee table, and an LCD satellite television. The adjacent dove grey circular dining table and matching chairs is ideal for some impressive indoor entertaining. The state-of-the-art dark grey and white kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to cater during your stay, including a built-in oven and hob, a washing machine and dishwasher, and a microwave and toaster. The kitchen has an island work surface that doubles as a smart breakfast bar with stools. The first of the four bedrooms can be found on the ground floor, furnished with a double bed, a flatscreen television, and floor to ceiling sliding doors that open onto the garden. There is a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower, a handbasin and WC. Take the elegant tiled staircase to the first floor where you will find three spacious double bedrooms, all with their own LCD flatscreen televisions, and ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers. The master bedroom is stylishly furnished with a queen size bed, seating, and chest of drawers, and floor to ceiling doors that open onto a balcony with garden views. The second bedroom has a double bed, a flatscreen television, and a balcony overlooking the gardens. The final bedroom is a twin room, also with its own television and balcony. Access the gardens via the floor to ceiling doors of the living space, where you will find the grounds surrounded by mature tall trees for privacy, and gracious lawns for lying on in the sunshine. The centrepiece Roman step entry swimming pool is a generous ten metres long, worthy of a few lengths before breakfast, a cooling afternoon dip, or a midnight swim. The pool is surrounded by white cushioned rattan sun loungers with matching shady parasols. A shaded natural pergola is home to a rattan soft seating area, ideal for a morning coffee and catch up, or even better a sundowner at sunset. On the other side of the villa is a matching mirror image covered portico that has a wood and wicker seating dining set, perfect for some alfresco evening eating with local delicacies cooked on the portable barbecue.Villa Hattis in the centre of the laid-back resort of Bitez, eight kilometres west of the international tourist town of Bodrum, where the Greek Aegean meets the Turkish Mediterranean Sea. The villa is a forty four kilometre, fifty minute drive, from Bodrum International Airport, get there by taxi or frequent reliable local public transport. The villa is located just minutes away from the nearest sandy beach, and the citrus-scented sophisticated resort of Bitez itself, with its many cafes, bars and restaurants, and local shops and supermarkets stocked with everything you will need to cater for a happy holiday. The town of Bitez plays host to a weekly market every Thursday, selling home-grown fruit and vegetables, freshly caught fish, locally pressed olive oils, honey from the farmer hives, and souvenirs to remind you of your stay, it’s all very bazaar. Every Sunday there is a flea market, where you can find Turkish bric-a-brac to take home, and make time to visit the old Greek orthodox church with its famous dolphin mosaic. Start your holiday with a scrub and clean at the nearby Bitez Hamman, the best way to prepare for a super tan. The bay of Bitez has a beautiful half-moon sandy beach with a mountain backdrop, pre-book sun loungers and shady brollies, sample the water sports, most notably wind surfing, relax in a hand-woven hammock, and refresh in one of the many cafes and bars.
Some seriously good beach clubs populate the peninsula, the oldest is Sarnic, where you can bathe, swim and surf, or you may fancy the buzzing Buddha Bar and Beach Club with its international live music concept and evening entertainment. For some adult beach club vibes try Xuma in Yalikavak with its Chill Out Festival and no young children policy. Push the boat out and hire a yacht with your own captain for a lazy day at sea, sun bathing, swimming, and snorkelling, or set sail on a shared one departing every morning from the harbour.
Further afield just twenty minutes’ drive away is the town of original fishing village of Yalikavak, which now offers a range of family fun activities, an impressive marina, where you can marvel at some seriously amazing super yachts, and spend all your lira in the marble shopping mall to rival Milan, selling all of your favourite designers and brands, and with your own personal shopper as an indulgent optional extra. Go east and in twenty minutes you’re in the cosmopolitan town of Bodrum, with the impressive St Peter’s fortress, an Underwater Archaeology Museum, and a Maritime Museum, not to mention the great shopping, and fabulous food.
If you love the nightlife, go to Gumbet, the next village along, with lots of live music, busy bars, and dancing until dawn. Adventure further afield to see some real Turkish delights. Well worth the journey is a trip to steep yourself in history at the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ephesus, and the amazing library that is still standing. Lose yourself in the cotton clouds of the incredible geological magic of Pammukale, and bathe in the life-enhancing Cleopatra’s bath.
