The magnificent pool outside is complemented by great wellness facilities inside, in the form of a sauna cabin and mini-gym.
There is direct access from one of the terrace seating areas to the interior living space. You have ample seating, a 50-inch TV, Sonos sound system, snooker table and more room to dine. The spacious kitchen comes equipped with a dishwasher, fridge freezer and all you need to cook and entertain, and you can look forward to a welcome pack too. Seven bedrooms offer lots of flexibility – three have king-size beds, while the others contain a further eight single beds which can be converted to doubles as needed. The three king rooms have their own en suite bathroom, while the other four share a family bathroom, and some enjoy distant sea views. The master bedroom has an extra-large en suite, a dressing room and a terrace with two sun loungers.
The stunning beach of Praa Sands is just a few minutes away, along with a range of inviting pubs and restaurants serving up fresh, local seafood. Beautiful Porthleven lies just along the coast, not far from Helston and the Flambards Theme Park. Sands House is also just over 10 minutes’ drive from Marazion, where you will find the iconic St Michael’s Mount. With a mile-long white sand beach backed by sand dunes, Praa Sands is a real treat. Located about 20 minutes east of Penzance and 12 minutes west of Helston, the beach is close to plenty of significant sights.
Just along the coast, you will find Porthleven, a pretty village by a harbour that draws visitors to its annual food festival. As well as entertainment, food stalls and events during the festival, the village has a number of good pubs and restaurants which have added to its reputation as a year-round foodie destination. Outside the village, you have the beautiful woodlands and lakes of Penrose which are ideal for walking the dog, or just walking generally.
The town of Helston is only a few minutes away, with the Flambards Theme Park one of its highlights. While it has the kind of rides you would expect from a fairground, it also includes historical exhibits like a Victorian village and a painstaking recreation of an actual chemist’s shop which laid dormant for 100 years. A short distance from the town, Helston’s heritage railway offers steam train rides during the summer.
West Cornwall landmarks The Lizard and Land’s End are both within reach of Praa Sands, each approximately 30 minutes away. The Lizard marks the most southerly point on the UK mainland, while Land’s End is quite near the westernmost (technically it’s a few minutes’ walk from the famous signpost).
Also along the Penwith Heritage Coast are picturesque locations such as Sennen Cove and Porthcurno, where you will find the open-air Minack Theatre. The PK Museum of Global Communications is another intriguing Porthcurno attraction, detailing its history as a communications hub.
Elsewhere in the county, you won’t want to miss the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan, The latter covers 200 acres and include Productive Gardens, Pleasure Grounds and the Jungle, a tropical garden complete with a rope bridge suspended 100 feet above. The Eden Project’s grand biodomes are instantly recognisable, but there’s more to the place than plants – the site hosts all sorts of events including concerts by A-list music stars.
On the northern coast, St Ives is home of the Tate Gallery, Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden and idyllic beaches like Porthminster and Porthmeor, while Newquay has an aquarium and zoo that kids will love. Padstow is the place to be for celebrity restaurants and the gateway to the Camel Trail, while in Penzance, you’ll find the UK’s biggest lido, the geothermal Jubilee Pool, and contemporary art at the Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
