Situated on the verdant grounds of Antigua’s renowned Blue Waters resort, Pelican House can be reserved in its entirety as a sprawling six-bedroom property with an exclusive pool for the sole use of its guests. Alternatively, the flexible property also offers guests the opportunity to reserve one of the three-bedroom villas whilst sharing the swimming pool. With spectacular views over the turquoise waters of Soldier’s Bay, the villas boast private beach access via a flight of steps, with silky white sands right on your doorstep.
Blue skies and the warm island breeze will draw you down to the idyllic terrace each morning, where you can spend the day sunbathing by the swimming pool, dipping in and out of the cooling water as you please. The dreamlike views of the Caribbean Sea framed by gently swaying palm trees instill a true sense of tranquility, providing the perfect backdrop for an afternoon spent unwinding on a sun lounger with a good book or an evening spent sipping coconut cocktails. Each of the villas also features a verandah with comfortable outdoor seating, where guests can enjoy a leisurely breakfast of fresh fruits or a romantic sunset dinner. Slightly further afield, Nelson’s Dockyard National Park can be reached within forty-five minutes by car. One of five national parks in Antigua, this cultural treasure is located on the island’s southern coastline. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the eighteenth-century British naval dockyard is an area of great historical significance on the island, as well as a popular venue for maritime events and activities. For those who wish to experience the magic for themselves, there are plenty of sailing excursions and water-based activities available.
While taking in the sights at Nelson’s Dockyard, don’t forget to visit Shirley Heights, a restored military lookout known for its bewitching views and community feel.
