Chaweng offers buzzing nightlife – Koh Samui’s busiest and biggest town has sprung up around one of the island’s best beaches. From cocktail bars to world-class restaurants, the famous Green Mango strip is 3 kilometres long, offering eclectic, colourful local life in abundance.
A visit to the 12 meters seated Buddha statue at the Wat Phra Yai Ko Fan Temple will offer an intriguing insight into the local religious culture; a beautiful setting with wonderful views, whilst the immense statue perches at the top of the temple. An early morning visit would entail the offering trial and morning chanting, for a taste of local tradition.
