Holiday Home Rental Description
Flanked on all sides by the Swiss Alps, this bright and sunny apartment sits at the bottom of a picturesque valley. It’s in the pretty village of Maggia, so you’re within easy walking distance of a couple of local restaurants and supermarkets to stock up on groceries. Hiking trails from here lead to beautiful waterfalls and it’s a four-minute drive (or forty-minute hike) to Giumaglio.
As soon as we stepped into the garden we fell in love with this place. Mountains rise up on all sides with frosted Alpine peaks looming in the distance. There’s a sunny terrace for dinners outside with a mountain view, courtesy of the gas barbecue.
Inside, the home feels a bit like a chalet, with a wooden ceiling above the double-height living room. Glass sliding doors can blend inside with outside here and the living area is an open, social space with pops of yellow and blue brightening things up. It’s not often we highlight a bathroom, but this one is particularly spacious, with a separate bathtub and huge shower for post-hike refreshment.
