Paris is a city celebrated for its wide selection of art galleries, but this apartment brings culture even closer to home. The host is an artist and the walls are covered in her pieces — large, abstract paintings and a sculpture that wouldn’t be out of place at Centre Pompidou. Her natural eye for design can be seen in the selection of industrial furnishings dotted about, from the glass dining table built around a piece of vintage machinery to the statement lighting that illuminates the living space. Although it might suit a couple that isn’t so taken by the more traditional side of the French capital, the central location on the much-sought-after Rue de Seine has plenty to offer everybody. Le Jardin de Luxembourg is only six minutes’ walk down the road, while there are also countless designer shops, antique stores and renowned cafes in the neighbourhood.
