Housed in a neoclassical building at the foot of the Acropolis, this newly renovated apartment is an excellent choice for a family or close-knit group of friends seeking a stay in the heart of Athens. Inside the home, it’s bright and vibrant with strategically placed skylights and licks of zesty lime green paint. There’s a comfortable lounge for reclining with a glass of wine after busy days spent exploring and pared-back bedrooms that guarantee a restful night’s sleep. But our favourite part was the roof terrace – we loved starting mornings with a cup of coffee in the shade of the nearby ancient limestone hill.
Begin your sightseeing adventure with a short hike to the Parthenon before seeking out a taverna for plates of classic local cuisine. Check out the Byzantine and Christian Museum – the gardens offer cool respite on a hot summer’s day – or head over to the Benaki Museum of Greek Culture for a selection of Greek arts and crafts through the ages.
