| 1 Bedroom|

Rental Description

Di Cambio Apartment is the ideal place to stay for a holiday exploring Florence, the beautiful capital of Tuscany. This spacious and elegant apartment is centrally located and all of the amenities and cultural attractions you could need can be found on your doorstep.
This chic one-bedroom apartment is situated in a historic building overlooking the Piazza Santa Croce which is one of the most famous squares in the city; lined with Renaissance palaces, cafes and of course the incredible Basilica Santa Croce. As you enter the third-floor apartment you will see a row of vast windows which look out over the square below. These windows allow the sunlight and the views to pour in to the room which is neutrally decorated and furnished to a high standard with comfy sofas and a large dining table. Adjacent to the living space there is a fully-fitted kitchen with everything you need to cook up a tasty meal or brew your morning coffee.
After a busy day, you can relax in the serene bedroom which has a modern en-suite bathroom. The owners have made sure to provide all you would need for a comfortable stay, including air conditioning in the living room and wi-fi.
When you wish to explore Florence, all you need to do is head downstairs and you will find yourself in the heart of the city with picturesque buildings and a labyrinth of ancient streets just a stone’s throw away. Start by visiting some of the attractions of Piazza Santa Croce such as the stunning 14th-century Basilica which is the world’s largest Franciscan church and is filled with tombs, frescoes painted by Giotto and his students and a staggering 16 chapels. There are also a large number of notable Italians buried here including the philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli, sculptor Lorenzo Bartolini and astronomer Galileo Galilei. The square is also home to some impressive palaces, churches, bars and restaurants and there is usually a market or an event being held here too for example Christmas markets in December.
There is also much more to see in Florence outside of the Piazza Santa Croce, such as the Palazzo Vecchio which is the amazing 12th-century town hall which offers panoramic views from its tower, The famous Uffizi art gallery, the Ponte Vecchio bridge and of course the dazzling marble cathedral and baptistery. Florence is easily explored at your own pace as the city is mostly pedestrianised and everything is within easy reach, alternatively you could book on to a walking tour with a local guide who can show you hidden details and interesting facts along the way.

Situated in a charming building which looks down over the Piazza Santa Croce in central Florence, it is hard to imagine a better location for a holiday with a friend, partner or even travelling solo. Everything you could wish to see is within walking distance of the apartment and you can even reach other towns or cities with ease by making use of the great public transport.
Though the apartment has a fully-fitted kitchen, you may find the sounds and delicious smells of the restaurants and bars in the square outside a bit too tempting to want to cook very often! Florence has a huge range of eateries to suit all tastes and whether you fancy fine dining, street food or a traditional meal in a rustic trattoria you can find it all close by. The streets are also lined with atmospheric bars where you can sit al-fresco and chat the night away over a glass of local wine or a cocktail or perhaps you have more of a sweet tooth and would love to wander the pretty streets while enjoying a gelato.
If you wish to do some shopping while here then the range of shops and markets is also equally diverse; pick up traditional home wares, porcelain vases and tiles, leather goods and clothing at little family run shops or shop for boutique and designer goods in chic international stores. The Ponte Vecchio bridge is also fab for shopping and is a mere 800m from the apartment. The bridge is lined with centuries-old jewellery shops and has stood over the Arno river since the 13th-century.
Florence is known as the cradle of the Renaissance, so it will come as no surprise that the city is filled with the most amazing palaces, churches, museums and art galleries. There are so many that it is difficult to fit everything in to one visit, so head out early to beat the queues if you are planning on a busy itinerary. Some of the key attractions are The Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo’s statue of David which is located in the incredible Galleria dell’Accademia and the former Medici palaces; The Palazzo Vecchio and The Palazzo Pitti. These vast galleries and Grand Duchal Palace’s will each take half a day or more to visit as there is so much to see and do!
If this all sounds too taxing for you then why not opt instead for a boat cruise along the Arno river which comes with wine to sip as you take in the scenery. Alternatively, perhaps you could pack a picnic and head to the beautiful and vast Boboli gardens for an afternoon of enjoying a good book under the shade of a tree.
If you would like to get out of the city and see more of the region then you could book on to an organised tour such as a tour of a local vineyard where you can learn about wine production and of course try some samples. You could also take a train to the lovely smaller city of Siena which takes around 90-minutes and is well-worth the journey.
