Originally a country farm in the 1700s, this charming Tuscan abode sits between the enchanting hills of Val d’Orcia and Val do Chiana. It’s a six-minute drive to San Casciano dei Bagni, a charming town set on thermal waters where you’ll find a handful of rustic trattoria and a local shop as well as traditional spa experiences. Tinged sunset-pink, this old farmhouse is typically Tuscan and is surrounded by lush gardens. Dining outdoors is beneath twisting wisteria (there’s a pizza oven and barbecue out here), and a shimmering swimming pool invites you to take a dip. A swing-set and wendy house in the grounds lets you know this place is family-friendly. Gather the group in the lounge, around the crackling wood-burning stove. There’s plenty of sofa space for the whole family. Your host can arrange a private chef and cooking classes, but if you want to go your own way, the country-chic kitchen is a delight to cook in – the state-of-the-art espresso machine lets you know Italians take their morning coffee seriously. Bedrooms are charming and cosy, and the master boasts a free-standing slipper tub. Our secret favourite is the golden room, decked with fairy lights and swathes of linen, like a fairytale bed.
