Or go for a swim in the gorgeous communal pool with its views over the extensive grounds towards the Lucca Valley. There’s an indoor pool, spa and gym here too.
If you fancy exploring the area, the medieval city of Lucca is a twenty-minute drive away, where beyond its Renaissance walls, you’ll find landmarks such as the Guinigi Tower and Lucca Cathedral. Alternatively, visit Casa di Puccini, where the celebrated opera composer was born. Lucca is also home to various musical and cultural events throughout the year, such as the Lucca Summer Festival.
Further afield, Pisa, with its famous Leaning Tower, is forty minutes in the car, while Versilia and its golden sandy beaches are a forty-two-minute ride.
