The owners, Marco and Alessandro, spent years lovingly renovating the home, restoring its timber beams, stone walls and terracotta flagstone floors while incorporating antique and custom pieces to create a warm, rustic ambience. If you’re spending time outside, we bet you’ll be relaxing under a parasol by the saltwater infinity pool – it’s built inside the trench that supplied the mill with water over 800 years ago. After a sun-soaked morning, head into the woods for secret spots and the best views of the rolling landscape. When you’re feeling peckish, indulge in Italian feasts out on the patio – or if you don’t feel like cooking, you’re only a five-minute drive from the gorgeous restaurants in Montepulciano. As the evening draws in, take a bottle of wine produced from grapes grown in the home’s own vineyards, and settle down in the chill-out area under the old oak tree for a night of stargazing.
