The narrow alleys and medieval buildings of Genoa’s caruggi should be on every visitor’s checklist. If you want to go one step better and stay in a home located within this famous district, this apartment could be the answer.
Despite the historic character of the surrounding streets, the recently renovated interior is refreshingly contemporary and even a little eclectic in places — you only have to look at the zebra-print kitchen and bold patterns in the bedroom to see what we mean. We’re also particularly fond of the sunken tub in one of the bathrooms.
Aside from the charming network of winding streets and old churches in the surrounding neighbourhood, many of the city’s main landmarks lie nearby, too. The museum in Doge’s Palace is two minutes’ walk away, while the portside Palazzo San Giorgio takes all of five minutes to reach on foot as well.
