Straddling the boundary of Umbria and Tuscany, this traditional farmhouse is an excellent example of the area’s traditional architecture. Inside, it’s all timber-beamed ceilings, terracotta flagstones floors and exposed stone walls. Antique furnishings add a homespun cosiness to the rustic spaces – we particularly loved the piano in the sitting room and country-style kitchen.
Stroll through the gardens, surrounded by olive trees and protected forests, and find a spot to picnic on the lawns. Spend scorching afternoons idly floating in the pool, snoozing in the hammock or chilling out in the shade on the terrace. When the mood for pizza strikes (it comes with the territory), fire up the pizza oven and cook your own creations. If exploring is on the agenda, take the forty-three-minute drive to Perugia. Visit the National Gallery and the Gothic Palazzo dei Priori before people-watching with an Aperol in a bustling street-side bar.
