The design inside is simple but cosy – picture white-washed beams on the high ceilings, a comfortable cream sofa set in front of the fire and even a separate study if you need to work from home.
When you fancy some time out and about, you’ve got plenty of options along Sicily’s coast. Take a day trip to Syracuse and explore the ancient ruins (thirty-five minutes by car), roam around historic Catania at the base of Mt Etna (a forty-three-minute drive) or visit Augusta’s restaurants, bustling harbour and sprawling Agnone Bagni beach – it’s a twenty-minute drive away.
