Rent Apartment Mint Kanuka Portugal
Holiday Home Rental Description
Unwind in the swimming pool with its stunning views over not one but two rivers – the Douro and the Bestança, as well as vistas down to the village of Porto Antigo. Later, recline on the day bed or explore the two acres of lush, green gardens, then enjoy an alfresco meal at the table on the sleek granite terrace. There’s a sandpit here for children as well. We love this architect-designed home rebuilt from an atmospheric ruin – we can see it has been a labour of love for the owner. Select a bottle from the wine fridge and enjoy a glass of local wine on the balcony or shoot some pool in the games room. When the nights turn chilly, gather around the wood-burning stove with your loved ones (one of the bedrooms has a log burner too). This home is perfect for a big group of friends or family, with its main kitchen and additional kitchenette. There are plenty of paths for walking nearby through the wooded hills above the house – here you’ll discover monasteries, waterfalls and plenty of wildlife. Mosteirô train station is a twenty-minute walk away, which will take you on a beautiful train ride along the River Douro – why not stop off at Peso de Regua (around a thirty-minute journey) – ideal for when you fancy some Port tasting.
