In a surprisingly serene location, given its proximity to Victoria, this ground floor mews home has interiors that evoke this feeling. Think Scandinavian simplicity – the furniture is comfortingly basic and the spaces are mostly white. While barred windows seem to us an obvious extension of this decorative utilitarianism, some guests might feel a bit confined. The green of the plants that serve as accessories seems to be the only colour concession, while a narrow but well-presented courtyard, maybe not the most practical outdoor space, brings in plenty of natural light.

* There are only two bedrooms so a 5th guests would use the futon-style sofa-bed
* There are bars on all of the windows – great for security and as they are all white they also feel part of the minimalist decor but one to note for those looking for expansive views
* There is evidence of mould in the bathroom, this has been cleaned and painted over, however, it’s important to note that there may be signs of this
