The inside is just as inviting, with a characterful living area filled with squishy sofas, board games and a wood-burning fire perfect for chilly nights. Home chefs can rustle up something delicious in the kitchen – it’s well stocked with crockery and dinnerware. During the summer, take your fare into the courtyard and dine alfresco, reminiscing over a bottle of wine as the evening slowly draws to a close.
When you’re ready to venture out, Ovingham has some lovely walks along the River Tyne, as well as a village shop and a local pub for when you don’t feel like cooking. Prudhoe Castle is a fifteen-minute stroll away, but if you fancy a faster pace, take the train from Prudhoe Station (five minutes on foot) and you’ll be in Newcastle in thirty minutes, flat.
