Spend time in Aix-en-Provence’s atmospheric cafes, buy all sorts of wonderful Provençal products at the bustling open-air market and visit art galleries, museums and parks.
Discover the Mount Sainte-Victoire landscapes which inspired Cézanne and drive to picture-perfect villages where he painted so many works of art such as Tholonet, Pourrières and Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume.
For a day out with a difference, head to the Mediterranean and follow coastal hiking trails through the incredible Calanques National Park. Alternatively, enjoy a leisurely lunch in the enchanting seaside town of Cassis with its delightful pastel coloured houses, around a 45-minute drive away.
