Pure Lux is a gorgeous single storey gem of a villa in Son Ganxo with spectacular sea views. With three bedrooms it is ideal for a family or a group of friends. Son Ganxo is located on the southernmost point of Menorca, between Binibec and Punta Prima. It was originally a small fishing village but has now grown into a charming hamlet with lovely coastal views over to the little island of Isla Del Aire with its lighthouse. It has a delightful cove where you can dive and swim from the rocks and swimming platform. The nearest town of San Luis is about 5 minutes away where you will find shops, restaurants and wonderful bars. The capital, Mahon, is only 15 minutes away and the beautiful sandy beach of Binibeca is only a few minutes away. Punta Prima is also just minutes away with its fine sands and resort centre.
Pure Lux offers total tranquility and seclusion. It is very easy to relax here. The villa’s spacious open plan living room enjoys sumptuous sofas, an atmospheric beamed ceiling, two walls of glass framing the views and giving direct access to the terrace, pool and garden. The room is very bright and airy, illuminated in natural light. The large kitchen will please the chef in your group with its space, top notch range of appliances and its lovely colourful hues. There is a handy separate laundry room.
All three bedrooms offer air-conditioning. The master boasts an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower overhead and the other two share a smart shower room. You can wake up in the master, draw the curtains back and enjoy beautiful views of the terrace and the bright blue tones of the sea. The other two bedrooms enjoy twin beds and are beautifully finished. This villa is ideal for anyone with mobility issues. The exclusive, enviable position of Pure Lux will take your breath away. The villa is surrounded by Mediterranean and tropical gardens with lush lawns, majestic trees and colourful plants. The terrace offers luxurious contemporary lounge furniture and shaded alfresco dining. The swimming pool measures 11 x 4 metres and is surrounded by loungers. The roof terrace is the cherry on the cake with its deluxe furniture and sensational vistas. It is a gorgeous spot where you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks watching the sun go down. Son Ganxo is a wonderful spot on the southernmost point of Menorca. It enjoys a delightful swimming cove and stunning views over to the limestone island of Isla Del Aire which is very popular for sailing, swimming and scuba diving. San Luis is just moments away with a good range of shops, bars and restaurants.
The wonderful beach at Binebeca Nou offers fine white sand, shallow blue water and dramatic rocks making it great for snorkeling. In the summer months there are kayaks and electric fun boats to hire as well as sun beds and parasols. The ice cream stall is very popular! There are also tennis courts, bars and restaurants to visit and enjoy. Binibeca’s 3km sandy stretch is home to Binibeca Vell in the west, just moments from Binibeca Nou.
Binibeca Vell is an appealing, idyllic, old traditional Menorcan fishing village in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is very picturesque with whitewashed villas adorned with colourful flowers. Local suppliers offer their produce at markets held near the fishermens village. The atmospheric labyrinth of cobbled streets is lined with unique boutiques selling leather goods and jewellery.
It is just a 15 minute drive to the picturesque capital, Mahon, a lively city rich in history, culture and entertainment. Close to the Placa Espanya is the pretty 18th century Gothic Carme church. The 18th century Xoriguer Gin Distillery is worth a visit and there are many independant shops selling leather, pottery and clothes. The early morning fish market is fascinating to walk through with its huge array of colourful fish. Mahon is well known for its upmarket nightlife and waterfront bars and clubs.
San Luis in an interesting town which was founded by the French in 1761 and built around the large whitewashed church. The Es Moli de Dalt windmill is fully restored and open to the public.
At the other end of the island, Ciutedella is Menorca’s second city with a picturesque port and an engaging old quarter lined with grand gold-tinged buildings. The medieval streets are filled with palaces, churches and fortresses as well as wonderful restaurants and bars. Placa d’es Born is one of the most picturesque squares in Ciutedella. It is a delight to explore. Waterside dining can be found at the port. If you get there early enough you can watch the fishermen bringing in the local catch of the day. You can also catch a ferry from here to Alcudia in Mallorca. Ciutedella celebrates its local festival on 23 and 24 June each year and the party is one of the most spectacular festivals in Menorca.
