You will immediately feel at home! Casa Peonia is located in the tranquil hamlet of Malhao, 4km from the delightful village of Boliqueime and 12km from the coast.
This beautiful, hilly area is always a hit with cyclists and hikers. You really do get the best of both worlds here with peace and privacy, and you are also very close to the thriving, buzzy towns of Albufeira and Vilamoura. Golfers could not be happier with the proximity to some of the Algarve’s best golf courses.
Casa Peonia is built on one level. You will be impressed as soon as you reach the villa. It is presented so well with beautiful grounds brimming with ancient olive trees, lawns and terraces. The entrance hall leads to a very inviting open plan living and dining room. Thoughtful design has resulted in a bright and beautiful space in beautiful soft tones. The warm, wooden kitchen has everything you would wish for. The comfortable bedrooms are all ensuite, but there is also an extra family shower room.
The double bedroom is idyllic with a lovely, fully-tiled ensuite bathroom, a dressing area and doors opening directly to the terrace. Each of the twin bedrooms is equally tasteful in decoration with lovely artwork and immaculate en-suite bathrooms.
The outside space is absolutely delightful. There are two swimming pools, one at 11m x 5m and the other is perfect for children at 4.5m x 2.5m with solar heating. The pool shower is handy. The lawns are perfectly manicured and offer great playing space. There is also a poolside games room including a pool table, table football, Playstation, TV and DVD. You know where your teenagers will be headed! There are open and shaded terraces as well as covered alfresco dining using the substantial built-in barbecue and summer kitchen space.
In every respect, Casa Peonia is perfectly proportioned, inside and out. You will have such a restful, enjoyable holiday.

Casa Peonia offers fabulous privacy, space and tranquillity in the pretty countryside location of Malhao, 4km from Boliquieme. Boliquieme has a number of shops, cafes and restaurants, one offering the delicious peri-peri dishes the area is famous for. It is a typical Portuguese village dating back to the 12th century surrounded by picturesque pine trees and almond and orange groves. The village is pretty and peaceful with attractive cobbled streets. It is only 5 minutes away from Loule, which is also worth a visit.
Loule has characterful historic centre offering a genuine Portuguese atmosphere. The Moorish inspired colourful covered market is a great attraction selling local handicrafts, local produce and freshly caught fish. Busy shopping streets, tree-lined plazas and delightful restaurants surround the market. On Saturday mornings there are two additional markets, a farmer’s market and a gipsy market, so it is very busy then.
The nearest beach is Olhos d’Agua, 12km from the villa but there are many you can visit along the coast. For a real treat, you could head along to the Ria Formosa. It is stunning, and you can take little ferry trips over to some beautiful beaches on the little islands off the coast.
Albufeira owes its name to its beautiful beaches Tunel and Peneco and its eclectic and colourful bars and nightclubs. It is one of the busiest seaside resorts on the Algarve. The Old Town is atmospheric with winding, narrow streets and the beautiful promenade boasts gorgeous sea views with the Xorino Cave to the west. You will find brightly painted fishing boats, bars and restaurants hiding in every corner of the old fishermen’s quarters and a stunning marina with excellent facilities.
For a lovely day out you could head to the delightful, riverside town of Tavira. You can wander the streets along the River Gilao, take in the best views of the town from the castle tower, enjoy delicious meals in the many restaurants, head to the Jardim do Coreto, the bandstand garden or take a little ferry over to the Ilha de Tavira to enjoy the beautiful dunes and swimming in the sea. There are lovely churches to visit including the Santa Maria Chruch, the Chapel of Sao Bras, the Church of Carmo and the Church of Sao Paulo.
Golf fans will want to head to one of Vilamoura’s famous golf courses. The Portugal Masters takes place every year at the Victoria Golf Course. The other famous courses are Laguna, Millennium, the Old Course, Pinhal and Vila Sol though there are so many courses along this glorious coast. Vilamoura also offers horse riding, football, tennis, a huge number of restaurants, a casino, trendy bars and beach clubs. The hedonistic party scene is renowned with many visitors arriving to hear the sounds of the professional DJ’s. Vilamoura’s exclusive marina complex is also a huge attraction.
