When you approach Quinta do Salvador, you will see it is quite striking. It is a modern white box with contrasting jade doors and shutters. Within the villa, you have three bedrooms, sleeping up to eight guests, open-plan living spaces and two bathrooms. The design is minimalistic. The villa is set in a smart estate, just 400m from the beautiful Alvor Beach,  800m from the fabulous Alto Golf Course, 6km from Portimao and only a 15-minute drive from Lagos. There are so many breathtaking beaches, lovely historic towns, exciting water park adventures and fine dining opportunities close by.  The gorgeous Praia do Alvor is at the end of a wonderful boardwalk all the way from Alvor Town and past the incredible, protected marshlands of the Ria de Alvor Nature Reserve. The stunning beach features three impressive sea stacks known as the Tres Irmaos or Three Brothers as well as fine white sand, ochre sandstone cliffs, grottoes and caves and extensive dunes. Quinta do Salvador’s privileged position so close to this wonderful beach is amazing.
The downstairs living space is calm and elegant. It is open-plan and leads onto the pool deck and swimming pool. There is a separate modern kitchen with a small breakfast table. The master double bedroom is also downstairs with a shower room. Upstairs, are two further bedrooms and a shared bathroom. One of the bedrooms has twin beds, and the other has two sets of bunk beds which can sleep four guests. There is also a first floor terrace offering delightful sea views. 
The swimming pool and pool deck, complete with sun loungers and a portable barbecue, is at the rear of the villa. It is not a huge space, but the beach is right on your doorstep, and there is the first floor terrace.
Although you may choose to have one, it is not actually necessary to have a car at Quinta do Salvador as the villa is so close to the beach and also bus stops to Lagos and Portimao. Quinta do Salvador is a fantastic pick for guests wanting to spend their days on the beach. It is just a few steps to the fantastic Alvor Beach, and 1.5km to Praia do Vau, a Portimao beach. Praia do Vau is 2km west of the stunning Praia da Rocha and is quieter than its neighbour. The beach is surrounded by impressive red coloured cliffs which also make it more sheltered than some. On one side of Praia da Rocha is Praia do Alemao with several rock pools enjoyed by young children liking the warmer water and on the other, Praia dos Careanos. From Praia do Vau you can enjoy a lovely beach walk all the way to Praia do Rocha, passing Praia dos Careanos. You will see some stunning rock formations along the way. From Praia do Alemao you can take the cliff walk which boasts incredible stunning views of the rock formations.  The 18-hole Alto Golf Course is a short distance from the villa. The course is close enough to the ocean to give players some lovely sea views. It features strategic bunkers, dog-legs, elevated greens and well-placed trees.  Lagos is only 20km away and is a fantastic place to visit. It is historic and characterful with a rich seafaring heritage and a dramatic coastline. The 17th century fort, intricate Baroque churches such as Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Luz and the city’s ancient Moorish walls make it very attractive. The cultural centre of Lagos was originally built in 1710 as the Convent of Saint Joseph and is now home to exhibitions of paintings, photography and sculpture. Lagos has fantastic shopping and dining opportunities. If you want to stay out late, then Lagos is the place to come. Portimao is a sailor’s delight with elite competitions taking place. Its famous Praia da Rocha is just a few hundred metres to the south, on the east side of the Arade Estuary. Long before tourism arrived in Portimao, the town made a living from fishing and canning. The fascinating Museu de Portimao is housed in the evocative old Feu Cannery and impresses guests with the history of the industry. The Megalithic Monuments of Alcarlar are very close to Portimao on the hilltop and spreading out over 10 hectares. There are burial monuments in the complex and a vast cairn with a shape resembling a beehive. Portimao has a wonderful market, the Mercado Municipal, which is a great place to stock up on supplies for the villa. There is also a special farmers market on Saturdays. The riverside esplanade is remarkable and perfect for a stroll beside the swaying palms. It is beautiful at night with the twinkly lights on the opposite bank. There are many opportunities for seafaring excursions from Portimao. You can take a voyage on a replica pirate ship, look out for dolphins, take on some water sports or simply enjoy the magnificent coastline.
